Had one BR facing park and shore on south side of complex. sort of average beach house type furnishings. They say take off shoes inside, but the floor was filthy. Hadn't been properly cleaned for some time. The pool also was pretty disgusting, with a standing layer of bubble scum along one side. That said, great grills in common area,... More

Rented Unit F5 and it had some very nice features and also had some things that could use some attention. The king size bed was really comfortable. Everything worked in the unit and it was clean. It had a nice large lanai that looked over the pool and the roaring waves against the shore beyond. There were sightings of whales... More

We just returned from 6 amazing nights at this condo. It was our first stay and when we return, we truly hope that this unit is available. The best ocean views that we encountered were from our balcony. This was as close to ocean fron as you can get. I actually sent a video of the waves to our cold... More

Our stay in condo D6 was wonderful! The owner, Candice, has decorated the unit very nicely and it is equipped with everything you could need. The ground floor level was wonderful making mornings on the lanai magical while we watched the dolphins and whales frolic right in front of us! We had sightings every single day, often for long periods.... More

We rented room D1 for a week. Pros - The location of the facility is excellent. Easy walking distance to great restaurants, farmers market, the pier, etc. The pool and barbeque area was clean and well maintained. The salt water pool was the right temp and had enough chairs for when we used it. Our unit was in a great... More

Review for unit D28 rented via VRBO. The location was perfect for us, walking distance to town. The unit location within the building was perfect too -- a corner unit - brighter with better air flow than the interior ocean front units. We knew the unit was dated (from the pics - which however seem to have been taken when... More

Unit D24, on the third floor of a four story condo building, has an incredible, unobstructed view of the ocean! If you love the nonstop sound of waves crashing on a rocky shoreline, this is the place to stay. Relaxing on the lanai, we were constantly entertained by the surfers, paddle boarders, parasails, birds, dolphins, and fabulous Hawaiian sunsets. We... More

Stayed in unit D32. Condo building is in great location - close enough to walk into town but in a quiet area. This unit is on the top floor with an unobstructed sunset view. The deck had solid walls on either side which provides some privacy. Owner provides beach towels and chairs. There is a stacked washer/dryer for laundry. The... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your Kona Reef stay. We're glad you enjoyed the view from your condo. We're sorry you were disappointed with the condition of the condo you stayed in. There are 130 condos at the Kona Reef and almost as many individual owners. Most of the condos are decorated in neutral tones with a... More

Condo D1 is in a great location: ocean front, ground floor, corner unit. Loved sitting on the lanai, watching whales & dolphins. The condo itself was a big disappointment; it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. The kitchen cupboards (handles, doors, & shelves) are dirty with splattered food & grease. When we turned on the LR ceiling fan... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your Kona Reef stay. All our guests and condo owners agree with you that the location can't be beat. The condos, especially the oceanfront ones in buildings A and D, are literally just a few yards from the ocean with gorgeous views of sunsets, surfers, and the occasional pod of dolphins. And,...
