Stayed in unit B24 and it was clean and well equiped and well located. The view of the small public park and ocean from our balcony was great watch lots of surfing. We Had no problem with traffic noise. Great pool area, great location. We would stay there again and wished we had longer there. more

This property is a condo property (I believe) and each unit is privatley owned. When we were booking our stay, we requested a certain unit. We didn't get it, but I guess I was expecting that! Stayed here for 4 nights in Unit A-14. It was an oceanfront unit on the second floor. Getting to the room was a little... more

We've just completed our 3rd say at the Reef, the 2nd in D12. It's privately owned, and we book through the owner, Alex Duncan. This condo is great! Extremely well decorated, everything you could ever want for a great vacation. Alex takes a personal interest in his guests. The location is great too, as it's a relatively short walk to... more

Elevator did not reach floor for unit D34. Steep set of stairs to drag luggage, groceries, etc. Air conditioner by ceiling, need to stand on a chair to turn on/off. Linen changed every 4 days, so doing laundry a must. Not very sound proof, plus construction next door, walls just going up. more

We have stayed in Unit D3 at least three times now [once in July 2006, once in Sept. 2007 and now in Oct. 2008]. It's the only place we'd consider staying. It's close to the pool/jacuzzi/outdoor grill area without being too close, if you know what I mean. We've always just had two in our party but just booked another... more

We spent 2 wonderful weeks at the Kona Reef. We've stayed there before in a couple of the units and love the one we stayed n this time -- d3. It's an oceanfront ground floor unit and is literally about 35 feet from the ocean. We could sit out on the patio for hours at a time watching the whales,... more

This property is at a great location near to the heart of Kona (but not too near). A two-block walk gets you to many restaurants, etc. The property is well-cared-for. The ocean-front units are the best and all are located about 100 feet from the ocean. The view is spectacular. One of the main reasons we chose this property was... more

We had a great week's stay here in the middle of January. We stayed in a ground level 1 bedroom 1 bathroom condo. It had all the normal amenties of a vacation condo, washer/dryer, full kitchen. The small lanai looked out at the pool area. We had to go out and around one more unit to access the pool area... more

The Downside~ The outside of the building is not very nice. The doors have those metal cage doors as a screen door. You know, the ones you see in movies in really bad neighborhoods! The bed was HORRIBLE! I can't stress that enough. We only stayed there 4 nights and it was the worst 4 semi-sleeps we've ever had. The... more

We just returned from our second stay at the Kona Reef through Raintree. Nothing has changed, which is both good and bad. We really like the location of this property. It is very easy to walk to town. We sat on the lawn chairs every morning and watched the whales and dolphins, that was wonderful. The grills are also really... more
