I have mixed reviews for this property. The lobby is beautiful, staff overall attentive. Housekeeping was hit and miss throughout our 8-day stay. Our "partial ocean view" would have better been described as "peek-a-boo." The pros: Comfy bed, in-room coffee that was actually delicious if made with bottled water, Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner. The on-site luau is fabulous! Beach... More

Unbeatable a location for beach access and walking around town and waterfront! Food was delicious, beach access unbeatable for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, etc. Staff was great, rooms good, but generally a really convenient and nice place to go for vacation. This is really a great spot for vacationers who want a reasonable price for central beach and town access. I had... More

Came here for 5 nights at the start of our Hawaii honeymoon. We were shocked to not be upgraded to at least get a full ocean view especially when all the other hotels delivered in that respect(we gave courtyard 5 months notice when we booked, that we were honeymoon couple so not as if it was last minute!) We got... More

Just stayed a week here for vacation. Place is in walking distance to everything in Kona. Read reviews that it was tired & dated. Found this was NOT true. Room was up to date & nicely appointed with 2 queen beds & great accessible bathroom w/ roll-in shower. I'm disabled & need this accommodation. Most of staff was very friendly... More

We enjoyed our stay. Sixth floor was quiet. Elevators quick. Staff very nice busy area so you can experience other groups events like canoe races and lantern ceremonies. It is packed on the weekends. Mostly ate at Splashers across the street. Many places to eat within walking distance. Better than the resort areas for me. View out window to side

Spent a week at the 'King Kame' recently. First, the staff is wonderful. From front desk to bellhops, everyone is trying to make sure you have a wonderful time on the Big Island. Need a cab, no problem. How about a scale to weigh your luggage? You got it. Recommendations for 'local restaurants'? Piece of cake... or is it pie?... More

Overall the hotel is a comfortable and relaxing place for a short stay. Conveniently located to places to eat and stroll around. The beach area is a little small and cramped, but then there are many other place in Kona to go swimming. The only negative part of the property is having to pay for parking. I would like to... Old school hotel with a modern touch! Comfortable, modern rooms very nicely appointed. The ocean is steps away and the hotel has a great outdoor pool only steps away from a lagoon perfect for beach lounging, swimming or learning the stand up paddle board. The hotel is full of local and traditional artifacts and the accommodations are very reasonably priced. Located... More

Loved our stay here. Our first stop on our Honeymoon. Right near the center of town. Close walk to literally everything you could imagine. We also drove to the sea horse farm and Thunder Mountain Coffee Farm - not too far away. Loved taking the kayaks out and we also did swimming with the manta rays - DO NOT MISS... More
