This is a quiet peaceful location away from the bustle of Kailua-Kona, yet just a short drive from town. The host, Ken, and the staff were very welcoming to us and patient with our ever-changing travel plans. Breakfast was generous and varied: it's self-cook and self-serve, and you're provided with ingredients to make a variety of hot and cold items... More

We had a very pleasent stay here. Lots of space (The Banyan Cottage) and a very nice breakfast. The staff was very helpful and service minded. Free wifi worked without problems, but signal is strongest at the breakfast area.

True to it's name, the house of peace is tranquil and a great place, surrounded by beautiful, lush greenery, a place you can sit to ponder and gather thoughts. The staff are wonderful, warm and accommodating. They are happy to go out of their way, and equally happy to leave you to do as you need. The breakfast is lovely... More

This was my husband's and my third visit to Hale Maluhia. If you're looking for upscale luxury accommodations, you might want to stay at the Waikaloa hotels. Hale Maluhia is an older B&B, but the breakfast and staff keep drawing us back when we're in Kona. The staff is very helpful and friendly. And the breakfast has such a variety... More

We stayed 5 nights at the house of peace in September 2014. Everything was just as we could have expected it by reading the honest information provided on the homepage. Especially the outstanding friendliness of all staff members made us feel like coming home immediately. All the positive details about the beautiful garden, the birds, the yummy breakfast, the chocolate... More

My husband and I came across Hale Maluhia while searching for the ideal Bed and Breakfast. We couldn't have located a more perfect residence for our 4 day Kona stay. "House of Peace" is the perfect name for this beautiful home. Surrounded by foilage, Birds of Paradise, a breakfast garden to enjoy in the morning (or anytime) filled with native... More

We had a great stay at Hale Maluhia Country Inn. The location is great: it's green with many flowers and trees and in the night you can hear the Hawaiian animals instead of traffic. Kona is close and beautiful beaches are just a couple of minutes away. The owner and the employees are very helpful with any kind of information... More

Every time we come here we are always in a peaceful mindset. It was very pleasing to get away from the Vegas noise and lights and stay where you at home. We loved the friendly company and the breakfast as always. We stayed in the Jasmine room which has a very unique design and plenty of space for our family.... More

This place is a B&B and style is one of a kind. The owner built it over time as he could and I got the impression no 2 rooms were the same. Our particular room was the Jasmine; with 2 double beds. The owner and his helpers are super friendly and will help you with whatever you need. There is... More

These folks came during some rains, should have paid more and stayed in a concrete box. Our Jasmine Room (not Japanese but a little Swiss Family Robinson) is built according to UBC Hawaii code and is fully permitted. Ants are a bother only with open food or trash. Beds can be made hard or soft if we know but they... More

Though 've traveled enough, I can surely say that Hale Maluhia's become my best hotel experience! Everything's lovely here. Starting from quiet beautiful location, cozy room equipped with all necessary things, splendid lanai with japanese garden around to delicious breakfasts. Everything exudes peace and true Hawaii spirit! But the real gem of HM is its team! Everyone was soooo helpful,... More
