Though 've traveled enough, I can surely say that Hale Maluhia's become my best hotel experience! Everything's lovely here. Starting from quiet beautiful location, cozy room equipped with all necessary things, splendid lanai with japanese garden around to delicious breakfasts. Everything exudes peace and true Hawaii spirit! But the real gem of HM is its team! Everyone was soooo helpful,... More

We very much enjoyed our stay and were made to feel very welcome. The place is so individual and interesting, it makes for a great place to stay. The room was well provisioned, with a lovely box of chocolates to great us - mahalo for that! and having breakfast on the lanai watching the birds feed was a wonderful start... More

This beautiful B&B is surrounded by lush tropical rainforest plants, a koi pond, a large variety of wild avian life. And there we sat in the middle of all this beauty having a phenomenal breakfast of fresh basked breads, fresh fruits and smoothies, and what an omelet bar, also serving Belgian waffles on a truly beautiful lanai!! I could have... More

My niece and I stayed for 2 nights in the Maile room. We had a late check in and both the owner, Ken, and manager, Jason were there to greet us around 9:30pm. The room was simple and sufficent. We enjoyed the self serve DIY omelet bar. There were plenty of fresh ingredients to make an awesome omelet. Fresh fruits,... More

We stayed at Hale Maluhia in July for 2 nights. My friend who lives in Keahou Mauka, checked it out for us in the daytime, before we booked, described it as beautiful,.but a bit funky and.rustic. We found it to be pretty cool, really beautiful, and it had sort of a '70s commune vibe. Fantastic breakfast, lovely setting with bird... More

Yes July, the little critters are a bit noisy at times, thanks for reminding us to reduce the population and we now have that on our list. to do. In a couple of weeks it will be back down to 3 or 4 little singers at night which most folks enjoy in the evening. Of course if you had said... More

My husband and I stayed in the Japanese Tea house with clean lines and a beautiful contemporary bathroom with a Soaking tub and separate large shower stall to match. Breakfast was a delight with sweet, fresh fruits and a variety of other items to choose from, such as belgian waffle and the well stocked omlet bar. Eating breakfast on the... More

Love of my life & I exchanged our vows on June 21, 2014 amidst serene garden of Hale Maluhia Country Inn. All of our guests who attended our wedding & a few who chose to stay at the Inn raved about how beautiful & peaceful the Inn was with comfortable rooms & friendly & helpful staff. If you are looking... More

We recently stayed at the Hale Maluhia - a more apt name is Hale Ho'olepo....the house of dirt. We reserved the Pikake room as we wanted a kitchenette. As we entered the room, we were assaulted with the "aroma" of not one but four plug-in air fresheners...our first clue to the room's substandard condition. We then found a dead mouse... More

WELL!! seems we have seriously offended some folks with our Gospel of John on the Breakfast table between the salt and pepper shakers. This happens from time to time and we get reviews like this one. But then other guests have loved the Positive Spiritual Flavor of our Inn. And yes, we did find and removed a mouse, fist time... More

For the price, this is an unbeatable Hawaii country bed and breakfast experience. It is located on a beautiful, winding mountain road only a 10 minute drive from the beach and downtown Kona and a 20 minute drive from the airport. The quality of the rooms was reflective of the very affordable budget (less than excellent shower, loud ceiling fan,... More

I was a lone traveler and it was my first time in Hawaii. Sarah at the House of Peace kindly picked me up from the airport and made me feel like I was being met by a good friend. The guys were great and really welcoming too. They even allowed me to join in with their morning get together where... More
