We really enjoyed the at home feeling and the friendly amazing Staff. Grace and Kairo and Evan did an awesome job. They had a lovely buffet style breakfast with fresh local fruit, breads, waffles, omelette fixens and fresh juice, coffee and tea. It had a very relaxed homey feel, and it was fun to meet the other guests at breakfast.... More

We stayed here in the Japanese Tea House for two nights, after getting married on Maui and then travelling to the Big Island to start our honeymoon. The setting was natural and relaxed. At night, it is dark and the crickets etc make a fair noise, but we enjoyed the sound and usually sleep with earplugs anyway. The tea house... More

Yes, front door parking to our Japanese Tea House is best with a compact, Jeep or Rav4 as my wife drives using the driveway every day. The drive way works fine for small cars but there is also a second paved parking space for the Tea House for any sized auto about 50' from the front door. As to the... More

Absolutely amazing staff, location, and accommodation! We were very impressed by the easy going, helpful staff and the beautiful setting. Surrounded by the sounds of animals and coffee trees swaying in the wind, hale maluhia is a secret little haven only minutes away from the beach. For anyone looking for a peaceful, kind atmosphere I would highly recommend this gem... More

Lovely Inn on the mountain side, peaceful, quiet (except for the chickens). Each room is different and comfortable. The hosts are very friendly and show the areas. Even has a library room. Breakfast is outstanding with fresh fruit homemade breads, waffles, and cook to order omelettes. All the guests mingle during breakfast on the lanai. A complimentary box of chocolate... More

This was our first time to stay with Ken and Sue at Hale Maluhia and one of our first stays at any B&B on the islands. Having visited this wonderful place nine times we've stayed in accomodations ranging from camping (our favorite form) to plush resorts and decided to see what B&B's were about. What seems to tie all of... More

Just finished a long stay at the beginning of March, 2015, and everything went very well. It's not a new property, but everything works. It's convenient for visiting the big island. The breakfast meal is as large or small as you would like, and the birds make for interesting morning entertainment. I've never met a friendlier staff. If I were... More

We absolutely loved our stay in the Banyon cottage. Sure some things were old and not 100% clean but made it more homely. Linen and bedding were all fresh and clean. Beautiful environment, great breakfast and terrific staff.

I was in two minds about booking this place, based on other reviews I had read. However, I decided to go ahead since we only had 2 nights there anyway. Although I had chosen and reserved a particular room, we were told on arrival that the people who were in there decided to stay an extra couple of days so... More

As Usual, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... But there were some issue that we would have been happy to have fixed in the first day you were here. The tub is a very expensive 1980 cast iron "soaker" tub, It was clean but we can replace the anti-skid strips in the bottom and make it look a... More

As return guests at Hale Maluhia my wife and I have nothing but the best to say about this wonderful B&B. We've stayed in the Japanese tea house (a separate structure) and in the Malia Room in the main house. We found the Malia Room a little more convenient as it's just a few steps to the delicious, sumptuous breakfast... More

We have very mixed feelings about this B&B. This is because it is a place of antitheses. The B&B is really outdated, but the personnel is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating, whixh makes you forget it. The buildings are surrounded by a street (the main entrance is in the peak of the horseshoe turn), but the trees around it cover... More
