My husband and I stayed for about a week in the Tea House. It's close enough to town to be convenient but far enough away that you really get to enjoy the tranquil island nights. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The Tea House has a private bath with a rainfall type shower and separate tub. It was... More

Hale Maluhia is an eclectic group of Japanese style buildings interspersed with extensive lightly-shaded rock constructions and small pools, most of which filled with water hyacinth, and waterfalls, plus numerous pieces of cast-iron garden furniture and oriental knick-knacks. The entire area had a light dusting of delightful, small, dry, golden leaves creating an almost ethereal presence, fitting the name House... More

Aloha Gibberellin, We want to thank you for your really great support for our Inn. As to your constructive comments 1) As per your suggestion we have purchased a new sensor light that will be more immediate. 2.) The small gap between the shower and cabinet has been thoroughly cleaned. 3.) Now 3 is the difficult one as my manager... More

We would highly recommend this bed & breakfast to anyone who wants a very restful and peaceful time. The atmosphere was very tranquil and relaxing. The staff was very helpful and super. The morning Bible Studies that were offered to the staff and for those who wanted to attend were uplifting to the soul. If you are looking for something... More

We stayed only one night, but this was a very nice night. We booked the Banyan Cottage for 5 adults and a baby, but were 6 adults and one baby in the end, because one flight got rescheduled. It was no problem to bring an additional person, and we were welcommed very nicely. Although the cottage was quite tight for... More

We actually stayed in April 2012 for a wedding but TripAdvisor won't let me review that far back so I've put April 2013! Anyhow, we had the Japanese style hut which was breathtaking. We had a lovely bathroom ensuite with a bath, and the walls and doors were stunning. By far the most amazing part of this place is the... More

First off, a road circles around it so it is not quiet but the owners are peaceful people filled with the spirit of love and care. they do have small Bible studies if you like that but not mandatory, I have stayed there a few times and visited too although I just lived down the road. they had a spa... We really enjoyed our stay at the Hale Maluhia Country Inn while visiting this side of the island. Our room was the Maile room which was very clean and comfortable with bed, dresser, nightstand and shower bathroom. Our friends were in the larger Jasmine room upstairs with the sloped ceiling. They had a mini fridge to keep our picnic foods.... More

This was a wonderfully relaxing place to stay in all aspects but one... not being Christian it was uncomfortable to be exposed by the overt religiousness of one of the staff. It's great that he "stands with Jesus," but I don't want to be prayed for by a stranger, or have anyone's personal religious beliefs served up to me with... More

First, I would like to thank these guests for the 5 rating on TripAdvisor, our staff does try very hard to give our guests the best peaceful experience possible at Hale Maluhia.Country Inn, (house of peace.) I did speak with my manager about this issue and he remembers it as a gentle religious discussion with two sides. He did not... More

We stayed there from Dec30 to Jan2. We could have the new year day in the quiet, peaceful place! Kailua Kona and Keauhou are not far from there and we could choose fine dining places. The owner and the manager are very helpful and kind. Breakfast is always very nice and we could have fresh waffles and omelette every morning.... More

I only spent a single night here, but I will be back next time I'm on the Big Island. The rooms were well kept, the people were friendly, and the breakfast was fantastic. This B&B is located just outside of Kailua town, but it feels like it's hidden in the mountains. Very nice place!
