Even though I thought about staying for only 2 nights I ended up staying for 4 cause I loved this place and I probably haven't been to a better hostel or a place where the staff made me feel more welcome. The room (bunk bed) was comfortable and big enough. Linen for free and cheap internet. They had a nice... more

easy. close to hele on (local bus) but a bit of a hump to get up the hill. called on phone multiple times to get my bearings, and Zero, the mgr. was understanding and helpful. Located centrally in Kailua-Kona with close beach access. Also walking distance to Grocery and all other kine stores. Will definately stay again if I need... more

The Hotel is a 10 minute footwalk away from the Alii Drive, where all restaurants and bars are located. It looks a bit old and used, but inside it is clean and quite simply. We stayed in a double room and shared a bathroom and kitchen with another double room. On the terasse there is an ocean view, bbq grill... more

When on a budget, this is a good place to stay. Basic, but clean and friendly. We appreciated the quiet time from 22:00 until 08:00, but unfortunately the neighbours didn't. Located within 5-10minutes walking distance of the main Ali'i Drive and the food mall strips, KWH Inn was great to explore Kona from. more

The beauty of this place is matched by the people who work there. This was a great place to stay, very clean and friendly. Walking distance to the beach as well as stores and entertainment but you don't have to even leave the place to enjoy a wonderful time. They have a great area outside with very nice plants and... more

I've been here for a day now and the place is really great. The staff are really friendly, approacheable and willing to give advice on where to go and how to get there. They also let you borrow snorkel gear as included in your rate. The rooms and common spaces are very clean. The only thing I would wish is... more

Well, this year was our 5th stay @ Pateys Place, we have stayed at the older property up the street for 3 stays in previous years & this October was our second stay at Koa Wood Hale, this stay we actually noticed that the property was alot cleaner than in '05. We stayed upstairs in one of the doubles above... more

This is one of the cleanest and friendliest places where I have been in hawaii. The people who run the hostel are heplful and nice. I always like to wear my flippers on the floor and that is a barefoot property... but I highly reccomend this place. Ciao! Katia more

Koa Wood Hale- Patey's Place is great! The staff is overly friendly and helpful. Lots of Aloha! The place is very clean and has character. I loved the hammocks, reggae music playing in the background, great coffee every morning, and of course Smokey and Cookie (the cats). I would definitely stay here again. more

Great place to stay - comfortable bed, great staff, parking, a little tricky to find but close enough to town to walk. Zero the property manager was great. Note the check in time and check out time as they are not the norm. Great facilities - it was pouring with rain when we were there but there was a BBQ,... more
