I think I chose this B&B based on the large number of positive reviews and because it was on an organic coffee farm. I have a soft spot for farms, especially organic ones! Other reviewers mentioned that there were a lot of rules to follow, and that the owners are a bit quirky so I was prepared for that. I... more

I was very happy with the accommodations at the Mango Sunset B&B. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is remote enough to be quiet, but close enough to anything that one could want to do. The breakfasts are fabulous and the coffee is absolutely the best I have ever had. Hans and Marsha are wonderful hosts. I hope... more

Hans and Marsha's place and hospitality met and exceeded our expectation of having a relaxing place to stay off the beaten path in Kona. It was close to the airport and to the 4-seasons resort where we were attending wedding festivities. The view from up on the mountain and the authentic, down-to-earth feeling of being surrounded by an organic farm,... more

I could not have picked a better place to stay on the Big Island. Mango Sunset combines comfort, service, hospitality, great location, peace and quiet, lovely view, fantastic breakfasts, and the best coffee I've ever tasted. more

Hans and his family were above and beyond our expectations. I was here with 6 of my extended family and we rented out 3 of the 4 possible bedrooms, leaving us run of the house. We arrived in the afternoon and were greeted by Marsha, who explained to us the ins and out of the B&B very briefly and then... more

Well, we enjoyed our stance at Sunset very much. The location overlooking the coast is superb and the family who runs the inn is great. You have to like living in a farm because that’s what Sunset is and room are a bit rustic. But breakfast is very good and for us living in a coffee farm was really good... more

This would have to be one of our most memorable stays in our many, many travels. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was outstanding - how can you ever forget macadamia nut crepes with mango sauce ! The family was welcoming and so willing to help us in any way they could. The morning breakfast with the family... more

Test your rent a car going up the driveway, not to mention the 2000 foot climb up to Route 190 from Kona. The room with bath was great, the breakfasts interesting and filling, the hosts willing to discuss coffee from the ground up. A true organic Kona coffee farm with solar used for hot water and electricity. Perhaps you will... more

What a wonderful and welcoming B&B experience Hans, Marsha, and Karen have to offer. Welcomed with open arms upon arrival and we were given the tour and ‘rundown’ of breakfast and overall house ‘rules.’ Not so much rules as simple common sense. If an adult needs a lesson on respecting others’ space and cleaning up after oneself, well... I’ve read... more

When we travel, my wife and I stay at B&B's as often as possible. We prefer the whole concept of a B&B, to the large, impersonnel setting of hotels. We have also stayed in B&B's in many areas of the country. This was our third trip to the 'Big Island' (the first two being our honeymoon and five year anniversary).... more
