The units are older but well-maintained. We had a two bedroom unit that, although not right on the ocean, had a partial view with great access. The beach is volcanic rock, not sandy, but watching the surf crashing against the rocks was very enjoyable. Saw whales our first night and always the possibility of a beautiful sunset. Pool area was... More

Aloha! We have stayed at this facility for many years and it is still the best. 1 block from one of the best snorkel beaches on the Big Island. See Humpback whales, Pilot Whales, Dolphins, Spinner Dolphins, Turtles, Ells, and hundreds of different species of fish. The Club has a beautiful pool where the grandkids spent a lot of there... Lovely location. Unit itself is tired and needs some tlc. Bathrooms in particular need attention as the wear makes them look unclean. Some cosmetic changes would make this unit more enjoyable. The lanai is spectacular and we enjoyed sitting out and this is what makes this unit. Layout of upper floor is very good with large bedrooms. There were boogie boards,... More

The Good: The Surf and Racquet Club has beautiful grounds right on the ocean and a good pool and tennis courts. There is a nice BBQ area. It is a short walk to the best snorkeling beach and a sort drive to the market. We've stayed here several times, in different condos, and always had a great time. The Bad:... More

The units were dated but good size and most of them were owner occupied. The front units ( which are not on the exchange programs) were on the water but no swimmable beach. one of the best snorkeling spots is about 1.4 mile up the road.

Look. Our family goes to Hawaii every year. We have been to all the islands and have stayed in all different kinds of accommodations. On the big island which is our favorite we typically stay in condos. The area we stay is Waikoloa Beach at the Halli Kai. This year my wife wanted to suprise me for my 50th birthday... More

We have stayed at Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club two dozen times. It is difficult to characterize it as one place because it has so many options. If you have the money to spend, the oceanfronts are the best options. We have watched humpback whales breeching from our lanai on several stays in winter months. The garden view condos... More

Terrific visit for Christmas 2014, wonderful condo. Very clean, good location (perhaps 500' from shore), everything we needed. We are a family of 4 (two teens), and it was great to have the 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds, worked out perfectly. So convenient to be able to come back to this 'home away from home' after a long day... More

The resort was beautiful. The kitchen in our unit was very nice and had all the kitchen utinsels needed. There was no snorkeling gear available. The beds were so uncomfortable that parts of the family braved the mosquitoes and slept outside. There is no elevator so if you have any physical limitations get a ground floor condo.

We stayed in 8-304. It is a HUGE 4 bedroom 3 bath condo. Fully stocked kitchen utensils. Crockpot, blender, you name it! Pull out couch was in need of repair, we made do. Vacuum cleaner not functional. Otherwise, awesome digs! Unit 8 is very close to Ali'i Dr. Lots of noise. Short walk to the shoreline. We even saw whales... More
