Sheraton in Kona is just average. The hotel looks like a big cement block- in all an eyesore, and it is even hard to find because all the streets do not connect. It is right on the water but there is NO beach at all. The pools is lovely, but noone even came by for a drink order. I found... more

You kind-of already know what to expect here-- a huge hotel with a nice pool, and that's pretty much what you get. The room was nice, although very standard and not special. The bathroom could use some updating, as the shower/tub was very small and looked like it didn't get the remodel the rest of the hotel went through recently.... more

We spent 5 days here in March of 2008 with our two young kids (4 and 6). We had two adjoining rooms and so mom & dad had a chance to enjoy vacation too. The service in the hotel was great and we took advantage of many of the ammenities. Our biggest complaint would be that with the exception of... more

Husband and I stayed here on our wedding night. On our way there we got lost, it is not easy to find especially in the dark, thanks to our GPS and a couple phone calls we arrived okay. We were given a room that directly overlooked the manta rays. The manta ray viewing is the best thing about this hotel,... more

After booking our reservation I had some concerns upon reading some of the reviews saying this was not a great hotel . But, I found it to be really nice and was quite happy we stayed here. I had asked for a ocean view room with our initial reservation and was told none was available. We were booked in a... more

We were there last week as well. Property and grounds are beautiful. But, the room was very tired. Checkin agent was surly and robotic. No smile, no welcome to the ..., no Aloha, no nothing. We booked on points (mountain view) and were u/g'd to Ocean Front in Tower 1, (3rd floor) overlooking the Manta Ray area (facing west). As... more

I stayed at this hotel 25-28th of April, and had was upgraded to a beautiful ocean front room, the hotel is really in a great area, and one of the highlights of the hotel is the nightly MANTA RAY lecture , in the Bar and Grill, It is really an amazing site, the rays are so graceful! This is the... more

A very nice, quiet, peaceful hotel. Away from town where you can hear the birds. ( A welcome change from Waikiki! ) Great location, set on an outcropping of lava rock. Beautiful architecture, modern design. Very spacious rooms and balconies. Only complaint is that the rooms are sparsely decorated and could use a little warmth and charm. Tip for using... more

The hotel staff and ambiance are the top things of this hotel. If staff make you feel welcomed, it starts the hotel out on the right foot. There is wear and tear, but it was a very comfortable place. The location is out of town, however there is a 30 minute shuttle (tip only-optional) to Kona that will take you... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel February 23 through March 17th. The first thing we noticed when we walked into our room was the musty smell that hit us. The room decor was outdated and not very bright or lively as we would have expected. We noticed that the carpet had some dirty stains in it. When I... more
