The resort is in a beautiful setting with gorgeous grounds, numerous swimming pools and is very well maintained. It is not on the beach, but there are some fairly close by. It is a timeshare facility, so hearing a sales pitch may be part of your package, but it was bearable. We loved having a full kitchen and washer/dryer in... more

Immediately upon arrival, I knew this place was special. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the help was right there asking if there was anything we needed (but not pushy). They took our bags to our unit on little golf carts, showing us around on the way and at the room. When we had a question on the... more

We were only there 2 nights, but it was very comfortable. Our one-bedroom unit was very roomy and had everything we needed. The staff were all very friendly. Our kids enjoyed taking a coconut painting class. The only negative is that there is no beach access nearby. It's very quiet. There are 8 pools, but all are small. We were... more

We had a family reunion in Kona and everyone stayed at the Holua Resort. It was perfect for all ages. We loved the quiet and the walks around the property. Great for anyone wanting to just relax and recoup more

This resort did not disappoint. We had a two bedroom unit that was beautiful, quiet, and felt like home, making for a very relaxing vacation. The resort provides beach towels for you and, for $5 a day, you can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, or coolers. They provide a nice welcome reception on Tuesday evenings with dancers and appetizers. Our girls... more

We read about this resort on Trip Advisor and many liked it. We did too. It was quiet, lovely surroundings and the accomodations - townhome, 2 bedrooms with full bath, living area with full kitchen were perfect. We sat on the terrace every morning, had coffee and watched the golfers and the many pretty birds doing their morning search for... more

We stayed at the Holua resort part for a conference and then over the weekend for relaxation. We thought it was superb. Not too expensive. The rooms were very big, with all facilities included (dishwasher, cooker, two TVs, DVD, ironing board, etc). There was also a safe large enough to fit computers into. PLus, free WiFi, and very good connections... more

Staying at Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village was like being at home. We were welcomed by friendly staff and provided all the information that we needed. We had to park in a garage and walk to our unit but we looked at the bright side which was that there would be no traffic noise, slamming of car doors, honking... more

We booked it after a thorough internet search and it did not let us down. Our 1 bedroom room was large and airy, with a distant oceanview. The unit has a bedroom, a living/dining room and a kitchenette. Everything was clean and the staff was very nice, as well. As other reveiwers ahve pointed out, there is a central, underground... more

The complex is made up of quiet a few two story bldgs, each with it's own lovely courtyard and fountain. The grounds are foliage are beautiful and well kept. We booked a one-bedroom and it was on the ground floor. I had requested "oceanview" and was amazed that our unit did have a distant oceanview! That meant it was the... more
