You have to be very careful which unit you rent. These are individually owned and some of the units are less desireable than others. I reccomend 201 or 203. These two units are completely updated to the highest standards and are wonderful to stay in. Another member of our party rented 204 and it was a huge disappointment. 204 had... More

Unit 303 at KMS is exactly as shown in the photos, plus more when you factor in the amazing sound of the ocean right below you, and the sweet Hawaiian breeze gently blowing through the condo 24/7. The owners are hospitable in every way, answering questions and providing all the extras you could want, from high-end linens and appliances, to... More

Comments Re: Unit 303 Rental # 917292 We've also rented 303 at Kona Magic Sands on previous vacations. When we opened the door, what a surprise to find how beautifully the condo had been redone! Absolutely, everything was tip top! The bottle of wine was such a nice beginning. We have visited the Hawaiian Islands many times and this was... More

From the minute you walk in the door of this top-floor corner unit at the KMS you get the "Wow" factor. It has 2 rooms instead of just one like most of the units in this complex and it features floor to ceiling windows on two sides. The bedroom/living room looks out directly over the ocean and Magic (White, Disappearing)... More

We recently spent 3 nights in KMS 208, before transferring to a different unit. 208 was described as '3 star quality, with a great view' - the view is actually spectacular, but I've stayed in many better rooms at a Motel 6. The bed is very poor, the kitchen equipment is nearly non-existent, and to add insult to injury, it... More

I did a lot of research for this first visit to the big island. Our criteria—ocean view and kitchen. KMS #201--Wow. There are too many wonderful things to name here, but I will try. Email me if you want more: Location – On Ali’i Drive, nice walk or short drive to the farmer’s market (nine luscious papayas for $2 USD).... More

This is a fabulous condo unit with the beach next door. It iis well situated on the third floor with a great view of the ocean activity, dolphins, turtles, and colorful fish (the spinner dolphins put on a great display for an hour). Sunsets are, of course, dramatic and watching the swimmers in the surf is a hoot. The condo... More

This location is perfect if you want to stay close to Kailua's touristy area but far enough away for it to be quiet. Pros: - Beautiful view of the water (I got to see dolphins playing one morning!) - Great kitchen -- fully stocked with tools, pans, utensils, etc. - Plenty of towels for showering, beach and kitchen. - Good... The bedding was worn. I found some newer sheets in a closet which I put on the bed. The bed is hard and well worn. Some of the furniture have rips in them. At least the TV is new and the place is clean. If you want to see and hear ocean waves, this is the place, but don't expect... More
