My wife and me visited the Kona Islander Inn between 2015-01-19 and 2015-02-15. I rented two condos for opur stay there. When I rented these condos I rented sight unseen. THEN I read the reviews and got worried. My worries went away the moment we stepped into RM 333. RM 333 is garden/pool view. It was in great shape and... More

Well, this was my third year there and I must say the worst. Room was tidy but as usual, considered rustic at best. Noise Noise..woken up 3 nights in one week at 1:00a to 3:00a by crying, loud conversation, slamming doors and moving furniture. Hot Tub is not industrial type, water is changed so often that its temperature can never... More

Let's start with the good: the location is great. But, there are tons of places to stay within walking distance and it's a small town so this is an overrated positive. Now let's get to what counts. This place is a disaster. Don't stay here!!!!! Our first night started with no functioning lights in the bathroom. So, after a long... More

We stayed at a condo here as part of our timeshare network. Pro's : -- The Location is supurb. -- It is in the heart of downtown, close to plenty of shopping, food and Jack's Diving Locker. -- Our unit was on the ground floor, facing the ocean, and a view of sunset. Con's : -- There was only one... More

and I agree with the last reviewer. some rooms have ocean views, others do not. and some units are managed by a large management company others individual folks. which means quality can vary. so read the reviews. I normally would go thru the large management company, though their customer service can be not very customer servce. place is centrally located... More

The location is very nice, and the setting of the buildings as well. The individual "condos" vary a lot in furnishings and upkeep. One can have all sorts of kitchenware or practically none at all. Sheets, pillows, etc seem clean if a bit threadbare in some rooms. Ask to see a room before signing on. I had one of the... More

Review for unit #237 First, we LOVE the location and ambiance, in the heart of Kailua-Kona, off of Ali'i drive, across from the beach, and yet nestled in a very quiet island garden atmosphere. The grounds at the inn are impeccably cared for, too. Improvement projects were underway when we were there, such as stone work and re-roofing. Loud and... More

I highly recommend room 229 for anyone traveling solo or in a pair. Very clean and nicely set up with a bed and a futon, small but usable kitchen, balcony, and a TV. Plenty of space and multiple mirrors. Closet has pool toys and cleaning products as well.

I'm reviewing unit #346 that is owned by Gigi. We spent a month in this unit and the place is perfect. The sound of the ocean is always present---even while you sleep. I'm typing this review while sitting on the lanai and the ocean is a mere 50 yards away. This place has everything you need including wifi, a great... More

This place operates as a series of individually let/managed units within a set of four blocks. Some units are actually homes rather than holiday let's. Our unit was quite worn out, and the bathroom had seen better days. It was a bit strange using the kitchen sink for washing, as the only sink in the place. Eating had to be... More
