Old and tired. Air conditioning did not work so do not use if requiring a decent sleep. Is in a pretty decent location and is reasonably priced compared to what else is around. They had a good balcony that was strangely half-covered by a huge, unnecessary table. Friendly staff.

Uncle Billy's was a perfect location for all of us staying for the Queen Liliokalani Outrigger Paddle race. It is inexpensive. It probably has never been updated since it was built possibley over 40 years ago....in any case, the room was satisfactory. The small fridge was a nice surprise. The sink had small issues with the handle and so did... More

Not much changes at kona bay. Reservation was made on the website. Check in was easy and a parking permit issued. Room was clean and we'll aired out. Stayed 2 nights never had a problem. Lots of hot water and shower was great.

I gave Uncle Billy's a "poor" rating even though its location is perfect for shopping, beaches, being right "downtown" Kona. That is the 'one' nice thing about Uncle Billy's. The one-half nice thing is the smallish balcony which each room seems to have (not completely sure) but my husband and I enjoyed sitting there the one evening we stayed at... More

I was there in August 2014. Very clean hotel, nice, pleasant staff. Not very rich breakfast but still valuable. Next to the beach and close to restaurants and shopping. Nice, clean and big room. Clean bathroom.

Let me first start by saying that if you are looking for a luxury hotel, this is not the place. However, it is very clean and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. We were right across the street for shopping and the ocean. Swimming pool was always clean too. We loved our stay and the staff there!

I would normally never leave a review like this but this was definitely the worst hotel we've every stayed at. We are super low maintenance and have stayed at all kinds of different high and low end hotels and hostels. This was by-far the worst place we've ever stayed. Check in was at 3 and our room wasn't even read... More

Booked Uncle Billy's with certain expectation from photos. The pluses for Uncle Billy's are the location, location, location. It was a clean, maintained property with limited amenities. It would seem that they have shifted their business model with changing economic times. It appeared a very good place for kids. There is no longer a pool side bar. Breakfast is maybe... More

Uncle Billy's in Kona is within walking distance to most places you might want to visit in the town. If you do want to go somewhere further, they have .plenty of parking on site. The daily breakfast consisted on some yummy fruit, eggs, toast, coffee and anything else you could expect from a continental breakfast. The AC worked well and... More

We stayed one night at Uncle's Billy's before heading over to the Hilo side for the rest of our trip. We are a down-to-earth family who tries to find affordable places to stay without spending a fortune. We enjoyed our night and would recommend the hotel, even for longer stays. It was clean, and pleasant. The kids loved sitting on... More
