The room was decent. I liked the full size fridge and the nice countertops. Nice view. Free Wifi. I was surprised by how many wires were on the ground around the tv. I was glad our child was not with us due to that . I unplugged a lamp so I could plug in a charger and the outlet nearly... More

The only good thing about this hotel is the location of few of the condos that are ocean facing. I thought I will be getting a ocean facing condo as the hotel name suggests but its disguising. As I reached the hotel front desk, the clerk told me I have to pay $40 extra for ocean view condo. When I... More

Our recent visit was on June 24 and we stayed at the ocean front room 412. We are local residents here on the Big Island and we took our two teenage boys to relax at Bali Kai. We all enjoyed our room and stay so much we extended another night. The office staff and security guy was awesome and assisted... More

The property location is pretty good. The Banyans surfing area is right there. Ali'i Drive is the touristy oceanfront drive and you're on it, just in a section where it's a long walk to any real attractions like the Magic Sands Beach or the harbor where the big ships anchor. The property is getting old and individual units have their... More

Our experience renting apartment #405 Kona Bali Kai (#3565821 on Homeaway.com and vrbo.com), directly from the owner, was positive from the outset. Dealing with the owner, Mike Gaudette, was a pleasure. He facilitated the process of the rental with professional efficiency, charm and graciousness, and provided a wealth of truly useful information about the location, activities in the vicinity and... Upon arrival we had a choice of 3 rooms. It was hard because they were all GREAT. Leesha Jones at the desk was the most helpful person. This place was all it was on the internet. we were there for 16 Days and we wish it would of been for more. When we come back to the Big Island we... More

I upgraded to the ocean view and was happy I did. The tidal pools and the surfers made the western exposure even nicer. The sunsets were anazing. Turtles in the tidal pools were fun to watch. The room while very dated ( as was the whole complex) was spacious.

For the price this place is amazing. No elevators though. Very comfortable and the staff is warm and friendly. I'd highly recommend getting an ocean front room. ... the waves are breathtaking. I'd book with them again for sure.

The unit we were in was clean and freshly updated. Holly was the manager of this unit and I believe she manages several other units in the complex. We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our week in Kona. Holly responded to our every need in a matter of minutes and was very happy to... More

I have thought long and hard about writing a review and have decided I must. First, Maile at Kona Bali Kai could not have been more pleasant! We had a very unfortunate incident whereby, at no fault of Castle Resorts - on arrival we had no place to stay. We were ultimately assigned to Unit 306! The unit, in my... More

Aloha, I know that your arrival at Kona Bali Kai with a false reservation made through VRBO must have been very disappointing. Castle Resorts & Hotels assisted you immediately and had we been informed of your dissatisfaction with the unit, we would have taken steps to correct this. As to the condition of the unit, I would like to apologize... More
