If you're on a budget in Kona then this is a good choice. The rooms are very basic (bring your own soap) and a little dark, but the couple who run the place is really friendly and the complementary breakfast - fruit, English muffins, bagels - is enough to keep you going for a few hours. BEWARE - not the... More

My husband and I stayed here for three nights, it was just a bed to sleep in basically. Things were clean, just old and very tired, there are many improvements needed. Mike and Jan were the caretakers and were super helpful and nice. I'm not sure what kind of maid service there was, as not a single day, was are... More

it is like time traveling to the 50's in a really good way. Friendly and professional service, no frills, teeny bathroom but you can't beat the location, views or $. The bed was comfy. I was thrilled that there was no TV. In room 201, I was nearer the road but it didn't bother me and the white noise of... More

The Kona Tiki is a nostalgic little place right on the water's edge, each room with a balcony and ocean view. If you like stepping back to a simpler time in a clean comfortable space, you will love this little place. The rates are extremely reasonable -- less than a Holiday Inn out in the middle of nowhere at home... More

This is our 5th time staying at the Kona Tiki Hotel in the past 20 years and it is still perfect in all respects. In a time where everything seems to change so much, the Kona Tiki holds on to that charm and that ambiance that keeps bringing us back to Kona. The managers, Michelle and Gary, are so friendly,... I stayed here in early March with my boyfriend for six nights. I cannot say enough about how much we loved our experience here. The hotel does not have a television and is very simple, but really allows you to be emerged in the beautiful nature of Hawaii. There are only 16 rooms in this hotel, and every one is... More

This is a small cozy ocean front hotel that exudes Aloha! In fact, you are so close to the ocean that you must like the sound of the breaking surf at night. With no in room phones or TV, you can leave your mainland cares behind. The resident managers and staff are extremely friendly and cordial. Most guests socialize at... More

This is a basic motel that has a great seaside location. The property is old, but effort is obviously made to keep it nice and to keep the guests comfortable. I like it a lot. Lovely to,have breakfast and internet!

This little gem of a hotel is the best part I've ever found. Yes Kona in beautiful in itself but this beach front hotel is wonderful. I will stay at no other place. For these large chain hotels, you experience the real Kona when staying here.

We rented a suite with a complete kitchen on the third (top) floor for 8 nights. The corner lanai provides an unforgettable 270+ degree perch above the water’s edge. Each night we were treated to truly sensational sunsets. By day, whales, birds and fearless surfers entertained us. With such fantastically photogenic views, you’ll can’t help but take home an impressive... More
