This is a small cozy ocean front hotel that exudes Aloha! In fact, you are so close to the ocean that you must like the sound of the breaking surf at night. With no in room phones or TV, you can leave your mainland cares behind. The resident managers and staff are extremely friendly and cordial. Most guests socialize at... More

This is a basic motel that has a great seaside location. The property is old, but effort is obviously made to keep it nice and to keep the guests comfortable. I like it a lot. Lovely to,have breakfast and internet!

This little gem of a hotel is the best part I've ever found. Yes Kona in beautiful in itself but this beach front hotel is wonderful. I will stay at no other place. For these large chain hotels, you experience the real Kona when staying here.

We rented a suite with a complete kitchen on the third (top) floor for 8 nights. The corner lanai provides an unforgettable 270+ degree perch above the water’s edge. Each night we were treated to truly sensational sunsets. By day, whales, birds and fearless surfers entertained us. With such fantastically photogenic views, you’ll can’t help but take home an impressive... More

My husband and I, along with our son and daughter in law, have just returned from staying here for 9 nights. and we are hooked. In fact, I am not sure if I should be writing this review...as we want no one else to know about it, in case we return in the near future! This place is not for... More

We have never stayed here. I called and set up reservation for 2 nights 5 rooms group of 12. the clerk took my credit card. 3 hours later the owner called to say she was canceling my reservations because they have a 3 night minimum. so my advise is to know the RULES of this hotel. Their rules are much... More

We come here every year and it never disappoints. All the rooms are ocean front--so close that the ocean often sprays over the sea wall. We love how the sounds lull us off to sleep every night. If you are a fan of air-conditioning and quiet, this is not the hotel for you. If you love the ocean and islands... More

This no-star, small, old, run-down hotel is not for everyone. If you are looking for 4-star conveniences and amenities, you are not going to find them here. On the other hand I felt right at home. The manager duo Michelle and Gary made me feel I was visiting with friends. They kept the hotel clean, quiet and the breakfast ready.... More

The Kona Tiki was built in the 1950's and it has a vintage Hawaiian Polynesian Tiki style motif. We enjoyed its location right on the water (light sleepers might be kept awake by the sound of the surf). The staff is very friendly. Most of the people who stay appear to be of retirement age. There are no TVs or... More

Thank-you Michelle and Gary for making this part of our stay on the big island so wonderful. Kona Tiki Hotel is convenient, clean, and has a wonderful situation right on the ocean. An excellent deal in Kailua-Kona. We will visit again!
