My dad and I travelled to Kona and stayed here at the Kona Tiki. Jim and Susan were fantastic and provided everything we could have needed including coolers, beach towels, umbrellas, and chairs to take to the beach. Since our flight had been so delayed and we arrived very late, our key was waiting and Jim even dropped us by... More

This is an older, small hotel but well kept and clean. The summer managers were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We stayed on the second floor and while you could hear the Alii Drive traffic from the bathroom window, the ocean drowned it out in the sleeping area. It doesn't have A/C, only a ceiling fan. And it was pretty hot... More

We enjoyed the stay at Kona Tiki Hotel a lot. The location is great for day trips, dining an shopping. We also liked the rich breakfast and the sound of the waves during the night. The rooms are rather elderly.

Our stay at the Kona Tiki was fun. If you want air conditioning and granite counters, this is not for you. Here is what you get: louver windows, ceiling fans, ocean front pool, seasonings left by previous guests, college worthy cooking utensils, incredible front row views of the ocean, clean accommodations, crashing waves that occasionally wake you up at night,... I enjoyed the Kona Tiki, right on the ocean, love hearing the sound of the surf, sit right on your lanai and look at the ocean, love it! Place is outdated, but fun, reminds you of days gone by . The breakfast is simple, but that is o.k., fun talking with other guests and the owners. No t.v. but who... More

My 27-year-old daughter and I spent three nights at the Kona Tiki in May, 2014. Our room had a lanai that looked right out on the Pacific. The surf splashed just outside all through the night--it was fabulous. The motel pool is a nice break from the ocean and lava rock beaches of the Kona area. The breakfasts were simple... More

We stayed at the Kona Tiki for a week in late May, 2014. The location is wonderful for its proximity to downtown Kona. It is located right on the water, with that said, please be aware that if you are a light sleeper you'll have a rough time with the sound of the crashing surf! My husband and I enjoyed... More

We stayed here a couple of years ago and came back again. This time the managers on site were much more friendlier and accommodating. We stayed in the same room, they have upgraded the rooms slightly, still great view at sunset. Bed slightly uncomfortable and the thin back door allows the noise of the waves crashing to sound very loud.... More

Me and my husband stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon. The people running the joint were very nice and helpful. Although the rooms were run down, they were clean and good enough to sleep in. The views from the hotel were amazing. In fact, the guy working there told us that the snorkelling right off the sea wall... More
