I really don't know how much an ocean front room can cost, but this one is amazing for $100 per night. Went swimming right outside the room, saw lots of reef fish. This is an amazing place!

Before you go to Hawaii, be prepared for sticker shock -- everything costs about twice as much as on the mainland. That includes hotels, car rentals, restaurants, and groceries.
In that context, the Kona Tiki Hotel is a great value, perhaps the only Kona coast waterfront hotel with rooms around 100 USD per night including tax (kitchenette rooms are about...

My extended family filled 3 rooms from xmas-new year's and had an amazing time! We ate every meal by the pool and watched the sunset with cocktails in the same spot every night. Yes, our room was a bit noisy during the day as it was right next to the road but at night there were very few cars out...

My Partner and I spent two nights here and have to say how nice it was. The Managers Gary and Michelle (and Kevin) make the visit very personal. They are always just a few steps away and are absolutely pleasant helpful and are very nice people. The rooms are quaint and clean, right on the water and the waves are...

My boyfriend and I stayed there for three nights in August when we visited Big Island. What a value! I definitely recommend it!

ROOM
Very basic and a bit worn out, but clean. They would be due for a...

If anyone has read my profile or other reviews I wrote, will know that I usually travel alone. I came to Hawaii searching for my favorite combination: volcanoes and surf. Big Island is a difficult place to travel alone especially if you are not willing to drive. However, Kona Tiki is perfectly located on a road where walking is easy...

My wife and I spent 2 nights here and couldn't have been happier with selecting this little independent hotel which is right next to the water. First, let's get the negatives out of the way: no air conditioning, no TV, no telephone. Second, let's look at the positives: ceiling fans, the sound of the ocean breaking against the shore and...

No frills clean and simple hotel, right on the sea. That is the attraction, if you don't like sea noise stay somewhere else, the hotel doesn't hide it's proximity to the waves or it's lack of tv and internet. Lovely simple breakfast of fresh warm pastries and local fruit included. Hotel managers were characters but not unhelpful. Would stay here...

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here very much. We stayed in the second floor room on the corner closest to the road and at first I though the traffic would keep us up. That was until we walked in the room and shut the door. The road sound disappeared and the ocean waves were incredible - put me...
