This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Firstly it shouldn't be called a hotel defiantly a motel. The manager Jan was rude and very nit picky over every little thing, we did not feel welcomed or accommodated in anyway. She over charged and added on extra fees without being up front about it. I'm... More

Basic Little Hotel with few facilities, Tired and Dated. However it is on the Waters-edge with tropical fish visible from your room. Nice little pool area and acceptable 'Continental' or is it 'American' breakfast ?- bagels / beverage and fruits. We found our room was made up each day. If you just need a basic hotel in a fantastic location... More

By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had, I booked and paid a $500 deposit last year ,I received and email from the manager on May 29th which was 19 days before we where due to check in that the price has increased and we had to pay or risk losing our deposit .I also had originally planed... We have stayed at the Kona Tiki Hotel three times. Why? Its fabulous location, affordability, cleanliness, walk-in proximity to Kailua Village, Magic Sands beach, Kailua Bay and hosts Mike and Jan aim to please. There's free parking if you have a rental car, and most roads off Ali'i Drive, its location, will take you to the upper main roads for... More

Low prices, No frills, no tv, no AC, but who needs it when you have the crashing waves and salt water pool? They provide ice, coolers, snorkel gear, breakfast, coffee! I loved fallng asleep to the waves, I highly reccomend this to anyone looking for the real Hawaii.

We stayed at Kona Tiki for 4 nights in early May. We were a little dubious, as we had read a Trip Advisor review of the crashing waves disturbing guests' sleep. I thought, How could the sound of the soothing ocean keep you awake?! It certainly didn't impede our stay, and the hosts, Jan and Mike were treasures. I asked... More

Arrived around midday for a 5 night stay at the Kona Tiki and were greeted by our hosts, Jan and Mike, who have treated us as family for the past 6 days. Our modest room, like all rooms, have a lanai facing the ocean. The waves have been spectacular and beautiful, as has been the surfing outside our room. For... More

The Kona Tiki Hotel sits on the waters edge, each room has a lanai to view the ocean. We stayed one week (rm.104) and cannot say enough about how much we loved our experience. The hotel is old and updates are needed which we were told are coming, but our bed was comfortable the room was very clean and the... More

If you're on a budget in Kona then this is a good choice. The rooms are very basic (bring your own soap) and a little dark, but the couple who run the place is really friendly and the complementary breakfast - fruit, English muffins, bagels - is enough to keep you going for a few hours. BEWARE - not the... More

My husband and I stayed here for three nights, it was just a bed to sleep in basically. Things were clean, just old and very tired, there are many improvements needed. Mike and Jan were the caretakers and were super helpful and nice. I'm not sure what kind of maid service there was, as not a single day, was are... More
