We were quite pleased with our stay at the Kona Seaside. We had a room on the ground floor in the Garden Wing. The room was clean and large and it had a small fridge, no coffee machine. We also had air-conditioning. The hotel has two pools, 1 next to the main building (Tower Wing) and one in the Pool... more

We stayed for 10 days in a Tower room with a gorgeous view of the mountain and ocean front. Watched the beautiful sunrises. Very comfortable room, very friendly and helpful staff. Within walking distance of snorkeling beaches, great restaurants, Alii Drive, Starbucks. We didn't rent a car this time and loved getting to know the local people. Can't beat the... more

We needed a place to stay in Kona after our late flight arrived and before our check-in the next day at another hotel. Kona Seaside hotel was perfect for our needs. We had a garden view room at a great price. It was clean, large, quiet (though there was occasional distant traffic noise). The bed was comfortable (firm, no springs... more

We needed one night at the end of a vacation and wanted something close to the airport and cheap. After searching through all the websites and looking at reviews we picked the Kona Seaside. It is an older hotel and shows it. It was more than acceptable, but if you've been staying at resorts or high end B&B's all trip... more

We stayed only one night after a 22 hours intercontinental flight before boarding the Kona Aggressor. We had asked for a quiet room and we got one upstairs at the tower which was really quiet and clean, too. Nothing fancy but very much o.k .for the price. Not a place I would spend 3 weeks vacation, but close to the... more

Great location - directly across from pier & small beach where all water excursions start. Right next to Quinns restaurant - best food and prices and we tired almost all others. Great price $80 night. Motel six type quality. with pool. This is where the locals stay. more

Sure the price is great for this island hotel, but truly you get what you pay for.... The facility is old and the "air conditioning" comes from old noisy window units. The facility is comprised of several old buildings that they have "fenced in" together. The facility tends to attract young folks on a budget who enjoy keeping very late... more

My husband and I stayed here for one night in January 2008. Our flight arrived in the evening, so this seemed like the perfect hotel selection for a quick night in Kona before heading to the volcano the following morning. The room was small and dirty. There was mold on the ceiling and hair in the bathroom sink. The location... more

Stayed here because it was the cheapest place in Kona at $88 a night. For what it is, a no nonsense place to stay, it worked out well. It was clean, secure, the AC worked well, there was a fridge. All in all it was ok. And had a great location right above Ali drive. more

My wife, daughter, and I stayed for a night at the Kona Seaside before moving in with some friends on the hill. We were delighted with our fourth-floor corner room with a partial ocean view. Yes, the rooms are not large and the hotel is not a resort-quality establishment, but you can't beat the location, especially for the price. For... more
