I had an amazing time staying here last December when I went for 3 days. The overall rooms were clean, and they were always willing to bring in new towels when we needed them. The stuff is amazingly friendly and was willing to give us suggestions on what to do and where to eat, (mind you they will tell you... More

My requirements of any establishment are very simple. Is it clean (must have no bugs)? Can I sleep comfortably? Can I shower or go to the washroom in relative comfort? And is it a good home base (i.e., close to where I want to be)? This place had all of my requirements and then some -- from the first friendly... More

I liked this place. I was not there to spend time in a hotel, I was there to rest and sleep between my adventures on Hawaii Island. For that purpose, it's a very good location, reasonably priced, clean and pleasant room, comfy bed, everything functioned. Just half a block from Ali'i Drive, the main drag by the Bay. Very close... We stayed at this property from Feb. -7th/15. The room as lovely but a little noisy. We were on the road side and it would have been quieter on the pool side. The pool was a little cool and not heated. It was a short walk to the water and shops. Good location to explore this side of the island.

We arrived in Kona too late to drive to our resort, so we stayed at Kona Seaside resort for the night. The staff was very nice and efficient. The hotel is located in the heart of Kona by the ocean, great location to get to everything. The hotel itself is old. It gave us what we needed, which was basically... More

We were only staying in Kona for 1 night and weren't going to be in our room for any length of time, it was a bit out dated but very clean, rooms were really large, beds comfortable, owned by an Hawaii family . It's in a great location , parking at no extra charge , walking distance to shops, restaurants... More

We took an overnight trip and booked this hotel for one night. The room was quite outdated and I asked for an ocean view. I got one but it was a view of the bay. Slick little devils got me because if I looked out a certain way I could see the ocean with a better view. Hey I didn't... More

Hotel is older, but clean. The room did not smell musty like most older hotels do. Location was excellent, easy walking distance to Kona shops & restaurants. Breakfast options at Splashers were delish...must have the macadamia nut banana pancakes. Desk & security personnel were helpful & knowledgable. Would stay again.

When we selected the Kona Seaside hotel for our one night in Kona (on the way across the Island to Volcano and the East Side) we had modest expectations for a clean room and not much more. What we found, however, was a well-located hotel with a remodeled room and great ocean view, not to mention uniformly pleasant and helpful... More

I've stayed at the Seaside 4 times now & haven't had a bad experience. The staff are always very friendly & helpful, the rooms always clean & presentable. The small 3 hotel chain is owned by a Hawaiian family that obviously cares about presenting tourists with the true Aloha spirit, i like supporting the local guy. Would.t stay anywhere else... More
