Recently stayed here and enjoyed it. I know some will say it's funky or quaint but we liked it. Our room (The Hermitage) was advertised as a two bedroom but was really two twins with a queen in the loft above it. Nice little kitchen:fridge, microwave & coffee pot (including coffee and filters) We had to go outside to go... More

Stars in the sky, live music playing on the patio, beautiful art to look at and purchase. The Inn is my favorite restaurant to eat at, all year round. I reserved a table for 6 friends and family for dinner and ended up having twice that show up for my birthday last week. They were more than accommodating to help... More

What a wonderful inn! Yes, it looks unprepossessing, but given its location, it's perfect. Two nights in Gold Park room. Two double beds, each in its own room. Franklin stove--never had to turn it on for warmth. An outdoor space with a hammock. The accommodations are on the rustic side, to be sure. But if you know that and aren't... More

What great value and wonderful experience this was! Starting with complimentary bottle of champagne on ice as it was my 50th birthday. Comfortable room, great location and a fab onsite restaurant with live music. Highly recommended!!

We stayed for two nights in 'The Guest House' which is essentially a single story house a short walk from the main reception building. The house is two bedrooms with a large living room and kitchen (which we didn't use) and a decent sized private garden at the rear. There is only one bathroom and toilet though - one to... More

We were assigned a cinderblock "cabin" with a cinderblock enclosed patio that felt like a.....cinderblock. Can't imagine what it's like when really hot as the small window AC could barely keep up in October. We asked for a change and were given one with a small courtyard which helped, but I wish we'd stayed someplace else. Dinner was good, music... More

We had a fantastic dinner at the historic 29 Palms Inn. This was a wedding dinner; we were served promptly and the food was delicious. The Inn has a varied menu, nice wine selection, live music and an excellent staff. We did not stay at the hotel, but if we return to the area, we certainly will.

This is the best place to stay. It could not be more different from the usual predictable motel rooms. The staff are really helpful, Julia went out of her way to get us a good room (not sure there is a bad room, though) when we arrived. We hadn't pre-booked, so could only get 2 nights, but were so pleased... More

We stayed at the 29 Palms Inn for (unfortunately!) only 2 nights beginning of Septemer 2014 on a round-trip. It is an absolutely lovely place near the entrance to Joshua Tree NP and at an oasis in the desert. The Bungalow we had was absolutely gorgeous. We stayed at the Hermitage. Unfortunately I only booked for 2 nights, but we... More

Second visit to this lovely inn with a fabulous restaurant. I just love the 'period' authenticity, they have not made the mistake of over - modernising. Pretty much faultless. I do think, personally, it was a mistake to put TV's in the rooms. They are thankfully small and easily ignored. I recognise many guests want this, i just feel that... More
