Of you're looking for something a bit different, this is for you. Built in the 1930's the rooms are like stepping back in time. I stayed in a whole 2 bed roomed bungalow, complete with my own private yard, they still have the old gas lamps-they do have electricity though! Totally wonderful food, a lot grown on site and a... We stayed here for a week to explore nearby Joshua Tree National Park. The location of the inn is perfect to the North entrance. We had a bungalow at the north inn of the property as it was pet-friendly. Very clean and excellent attention from housekeeping. The kitchen was small and lacked items like a toaster and cutting boards but... More

Charming, rustic, private rooms and a very well kept property from the pool to the rooms. I loved my stay and will recommend 29 Palms Inn to my friends. Very colorful and up to date. Free continental breakfast with oat meal. I did have the pleasure of dining at the restaurant but I'm sure they have wonderful food.

I agree with all the positive comments and won't reiterate what others have said. But I want to add some major plusses. Every single member of the staff seemed genuinely warm and welcoming. The inn respects its surroundings; it's off the main highway and all the little accommodations (even the lilac-painted one) seem to fit well in the desert. There... More

Small, clean and funky hotel set next to a palm oasis. Great restaurant. Helpful staff. Beautiful dark night skies. Takes a while to get hot water, which is too bad for the resource in the desert. Windy in January.

We love this place. The inn has an eclectic collection of rooms. We were in the MacKenzie, which had two rooms and a bathroom. It was very cute and cozy with a porch swing. It was perfect for two parents and two kids, with two single beds and a queen, though you had to walk through the queen bedroom to... More

Spent a few days with my adult son , taking in the surrounding beauty of the property. The history of 29 Palms, and the diversity of the plant and animal life is fascinating. Tour with Pat, local resident and naturalist. She has a lot of history and information to share. Sign up in the office/library. The property is rustic and... More

Loved the ambience, the views, this place was the perfect spot for cleaning up and relaxing after a day of hiking in Joshua Tree. Staff, amenities, all were first rate. We saw a roadrunner just as we turned in to check into the inn. Nice score. Coffee the next morning was fabulous. Organic, fair trade. This inn was one we... More

This place is quirky but it has such a great vibe. The staff is super friendly, and they're that perfect combo of casual friendliness while also being professional and efficient. I was worried that it was rustic as in run-down, but it's rustic and charming. The rooms are impeccably clean and well-appointed. You can tell they put a lot of... More

We rented a room with a fireplace and just loved it! I thought the rates were very reasonable (4120 for room w/fireplace, $100 no fireplace) and the room was beautiful and comfortable. The hotel staff was amazing, the food and drinks in the restaurant were awesome too. We ate at the bar and the male bartender was somewhat unattentive, but... More
