The Oasis has been a family stopover from the Bay Area into Tucson and back again for almost 20 years. The favorite rooms are Room 1 & 2. A two room shack with shared bathroom. Parents in one room, kids in another. The building has a deck overlooking the 20- 30 meter diameter palm covered lagoon. A dock from this... More

I have been here several times and enjoy it every time. The food is good and the service isn't bad. Some nights they have live entertainment which is nice. I really enjoy the lunch menu. It's the nicest place in 29 Palms.

Have stayed here before, but haven't done the review. And they deserve a review. This place has more personality than you can imagine. Quirky and friendly and comfortable. The pool is great after a day's hike in Joshua Tree. The restaurant is yummy. Don't assume you can just walk in and get a table. They are busy. If you stay... More

We were directed here by our hotel staff (best western) and were extremely pleased with the recommendation . Excellent cassoulet and salad a good beer on tap and a group of young servers who were clearly enjoying themselves. The poolside location was nice and the Jazz funk musicians good. A real oasis amidst the usual trashy pizza places on the... More

I can't describe what a wonderful evening I had at the 29 Palms Inn as a solo traveler! I walked Joshua Tree and captured many a great photo. I loved my room and and the yard that came with it. Lastly, as a solo traveler, I sat at the bar and had many a wonderful, engaging conversations with locals and... More

This hotel was the best at Joshua Tree. Simple, yet affordable and clean. The pool and hiking were great, the art center next door was AMAZING, and the food was delicious. My girls and I cannot wait to come back!

My family enjoyed our short but extremely pleasant stay at 29 Palms Inn. Our cabin was sweet and comfortable and very well designed; the setting was beautiful, marred only by a nearby business with bright lights fairly near the property. Development encroaches on everyone, even in the desert. We enjoyed the Inn's restaurant and continental breakfast, too.

We stayed in two cabins (the Hermitage and the Faultline) on a family vacation. Both cabins were clean and well equipped and very different from each other. Grounds are wonderful, and it was fun to walk from one cabin to the other, by the Oasis and the gardens. My kids loved the pool and we all liked how easy it... More

Peaceful, friendly, charming . . . we could go on and on but others have already said it. We stayed in a little adobe cabin. At first, it seemed impossibly small, but it was so well-designed, we actually had more space to put stuff than we did in a typical chain hotel room. Luggage went into a separate little room... Of you're looking for something a bit different, this is for you. Built in the 1930's the rooms are like stepping back in time. I stayed in a whole 2 bed roomed bungalow, complete with my own private yard, they still have the old gas lamps-they do have electricity though! Totally wonderful food, a lot grown on site and a...
