Behind the gigantic palms that welcomed us to Roughley Manor was an elegant home and glorious gardens and two gracious Innkeepers -- Jan and Gary Peters. Delicious breakfast was served in the spacious, cheerful dining room with very cozy sofas and chairs inviting relaxation. We spent 3 days in the Campbell Suite with fireplace and a sitting room and private... More

This was my third visit to this wonderful inn. It will not be my last. The rooms are scattered throughout the acres of trees and gardens. I have stayed in the Cholla Room each time. The Cholla room is a spacious room in a triplex. The room is decorated in a casual elegant motif. It has two double beds, a... More

We just returned from a 2-night stay in the Campbell Suite. Loved everything about Roughley Manor - especially the peaceful sound of water in the courtyard fountain as we read under the cool shade of the palm trees. So quiet at night too. Five minutes from Joshua Tree Park, 10 minutes from a nice little casino. Great hospitality and cheerfully... More

We decided to take a meandering route from Las Vegas to Palm Springs, via Kelso and Amboy. 29 Palms was a convenient place to stop for the night, and Roughley Manor was a comfortable and welcoming place to stay before continuing our journey to Palm Springs the next morning. Gary and Jan Peters run a delightful bed and breakfast inn,... More

The Roughley Manor run by the exceptional team of Jan and Gary Peters is the only place I will stay when attending meetings/conferences at the MCAGCC 29 Palms, CA. We schedule our meetings and conferences based upon availability of rooms at the Roughley and tell anyone going there to check availability. The breakfasts are worth the trip alone with every morning... The Roughley Manor was definitely a unique experience. Peaceful and quiet, in a beautiful setting. Our room was spacious and nicely appointed with sink, refrigerator and microwave. The hosts were exceptional -- very friendly and providing great recommendations for dinner. Breakfast the next morning was the best, ever, with asparagus roll-ups very artistically arranged with a pretty pansy flower in... More

This inn is wonderful. Most of the rooms are set up like small apartments with sitting areas and kitchenettes. The common spaces are beautiful, the breakfasts delicious and the hosts respectful of your privacy and needs. Great value. Highly recommended.

Based on the rave reviews I was really excited about staying here. I was bracing myself though, for that common experience of things not being as nice as they looked on-line. Well, believe the reviews. We stayed with our 2 children on a weekday in February. We were warmly greeted by attentive, but not overly attentive inn keepers. The room... More

Perfect place to stay. Gracious hosts (retired Marine Officer & wife) manage every detail to make most memorable visit. Clean, historical, refreshing, enlightening, stimulating and spacious rooms. Tea & CC cookies always there. Hot tub, swing chairs, horse shoes, pool, vistas, puppies, big old trees, gardens, nooks with books all on a desert oasis. No club points but worth every... More

This B&B is wonderful! The property is private and beautiful. We spent a lot of time sight seeing but would have been happy to spend more time here. We stayed in the Sunset room and had the perfect view. We enjoyed the two dogs that live on the grounds as well as the books and cookies the hosts had available... More
