This is no 4 Star Hotel, maybe 1 Star is OK. The rooms are quite run down, TV and radio not working, the minibar plugged-out, the main reading lights were burnt, heating system and hot water unavailable, the whole place was freezing, for breakfast they gave us synthetic orange juice. What a charming place! The exterior is great, if you dine there I recommend eating outside, the little pond is delightful. There is however something very odd about this place - there seems to be an unhealthy obsession with Lara Croft. Full size statues adorn the lobby and other areas. what a lovely family the alts are! rooms immaculate food very good although limited menu. Was a bit disappointed not to get a room with a bath as full relaxation requires a bath. didn't have a car so getting about was a bit of a problem because we felt that we had to rely on a lift from the alts... more

We had the pleasure to stay at the Hotel Flic Flac in Mauerbach, just outside of Vienna in September, 2003. The Hotel accommodations were wonderful and the food was excellent. The Alt's were a very warm and hospitable couple and made our stay special and one of the most memorable on our vacation. We look forward to returning someday. more
