The Hotel Tyrol, located in the center of Solden is a good three star with better than three star food. The desk personal are friendly and helpful, though sometimes overwhelmed during busy check in/check out periods. The main lobby area is small, but there are comfortable parlors on one side and a large bar area on the other side. Our... More

This was our fifth time skiing in Austria, but only our very first Solden experience. A quick work on Solden: it's less glamorous than St Anton (although the same penchant for displaying bottles of champagne EVERYWHERE), and less wild than Mayrhofen, but significantly more fun in the skiing stakes than anywhere I've ever been. It also had a surprising number... More

Reasonable food, somewhat essentric staff, emblematic of a small farming town without the expected hospitality. The rooms are unbelievably small. The internet is for recreational use only. It is clean, a good sauna and not too noisy. The single rooms are not an option and the doubles are very tight. The staff is even interested in whom you are having... More

The hotel is in the middle of Sölden, and you can walk to the ski lift in 10 minutes, or take the bus just outside the hotel. The service is good (the reception closes between 10 PM and 8 AM, but that works out just fine), the size on the rooms are small but big enough - and you can... More

Hotel well located with good amenities. Classic rooms were clean and vary in size. Staff generally very helpful. Dinners are massive (five courses) but varied in quality from night to night, e.g. some nights the salads were basic and other nights it came with cold meats, fish and cheese. Only issue during the week was our group wanted to go... More

After returning from a week ski trip as an older active couple, we made following findings. Good points: Situation of the hotel is very good. It is in the very middle of the village on the main street. If you like "night life", everything is on the spot. Ski bus stops to both lift directions are within 50 meters. The... More

We have just returned from a week ski trip with friends. Having organised the trip myself for the six of us I was really concerned when I read some of the reviews… so was pleasantly surprised as was everyone else on arrival. We had nice rooms – a superior room and two classic rooms (517 is a great room if... More

I stayed with family and friends for a ski holidays in January. The hotel is much to expensive for what you get. Be careful because hotel has two parts an we were in the older part. Rooms are small, smelly and furnished 30 years ago, the glass on the bathtube was broken. There was no soap. There are all sorts... More

Having read some of the reviews before we left we were fairly apprehensive about the Hotel, however on arrival all our worries were unfounded. The Hotel is in an excellent location right in the centre of Solden with ski hire shop, post office and bank just outside the front door. The staff were all excellent extremely helpful and efficient and spoke... Perfect location. There are 2 parts of the hotel: crapy old part in 1975 style as one of the reviewers sharply noted, and the beautiful expensive new renovated part. Service is total disaster. They would even shout on customers if something goes wrong. Finally, they operate like very last season and trying to pull every penny from you. Highly NOT... More
