We stayed here for a week in mid-August, half-board, with Thomson and would be delighted to return. The Schwarzer Adler is situated in the centre of the lovely little town of St Anton which has a railway station and various bus routes. The hotel is near chair lifts, cable cars, shops, cafes etc. It is beautifully furnished throughout, traditional, light, airy with... 15 of us stayed here in February for a week of skiing. An old family run hotel with modern conveniences and all the attention to detail one would expect from such an institution in Austria. The staff could not be more helpful and pleasant. Highlights are the pastries in the bar each afternoon, terrific breakfasts and a superb wine list... More

Another amazing stay. Dinners were exceptional as usual with excellent wine recommendations. We remained fat, drunk, and happy throughout our stay. New this year was the Children's playroom which we enjoyed on a rainy afternoon. The ball pit smelled a bit funny; not sure if it was the newness of the plastic or remnants of a visit from a kid... This was my first skiing holiday, so I don't have anything to compare it to: but on its own this is quite possibly one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. It's family run and during our week's stay we were invited to one of the weekly family drinks receptions. We expected this to be a sales exercise to try... More

Traveled with 7 couples on a 1st trip to the Alps for skiing, sightseeing and Alps adventures. Even though this hotel was highly recommedned, it exceeded our expectations. The rooms, service, staff and food were exceptional. Location was prefect. Great hotel for couples or families.

Further to my review in 2013, the hotel has taken note of several reviews regarding smoking in the public areas. This is no longer permitted and a convenient smokers cubicle, similar to those seen at many airports, has been built within the bar area thus ensuring smokers have their choice but the air quality is preserved for other guests and visitors.... Rooms by European standards are huge, clean, and very comfortable. Loved the apres ski indoor swimming pool, spa, etc. Owners seemed always present/helpful and service was impeccable. Food was fantastic. It didn't hurt too that I had some of the best skiing of my life on an amazing series of mountains. Can't wait to return. Bravo Hotel Schwarzer Adler!

Our stay was amazing. It was incredibly clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Location was in the middle of the village, easy to get to by train, and walking distance to the mountain. The food was by far the best part. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were fabulous - probably the best food in the village. The dinner buffet and spread is one... More

Great week over New Year with friends. This was my second visit and the quality was just as good second time around. The hotel is relaxed and charming, is very friendly and feels like a home from home. The owners are welcoming and mingle with the guests often. As it is in the centre of town you can drop down...
