Stayed for three nights on a familyholiday in June 2014. We found the hotel very cosy with a excellent location in the countryside thou very close to the lake and the city of Zell am see. The room was spacious and clean, Staff was great. About breakfast perhaps a couple of more things to choose from would be desirable for... More

Wonderful castle with a very friendly staff! We had a late arrival, but they organized our room and got our suitcases to the room. (I'm glad as the room was on the 3rd floor). Good breakfast buffet and they made eggs of your choice upon request. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms new and delicate. The reason for why... More

After reading the previous glorifying reviews we felt we should try the Schloss. Unfortunately I must agree with the poor reviews. On arrival the reception is not staffed, it felt as walking into someones home without asking.Eventually I traced a waited in the kitchen who handed over the keys and showed us to the room. He mentioned there is no... More

On our honeymoon we decided to spend some days in Zell Am See and this hotel seemed a great choice, but we left with mixed feelings. The "castle" in itself is beautiful, room was very large and full of charme. Other good point was the breakfast, full of choices. What left us disappointed is the service...The staff runs not only... Beutiful setting, cool character to the castle, but... When we showed up, young women at the reception was not terribly helpful. It was advertised that bicycles from the castle could be used, but she stated that we had to walk into town (aobut 20 minutes) to find a bike. Later we learned that you could reserve bikes and have them... More

We stayed at the Schloss for the best part of a week during a skiing break with the children. We had booked the very spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bedroom floor, which was a little too big for us, but we wanted space and 2 bathrooms. The hospitality and personal warmth extended by the hostess was exemplary; she was gracious and... More

We spent only one night at this amazing hotel but were impressed totally. The castle is beautiful, located in a nice park, close to the main road but still tranquil, facing the lake. The interiors are tastefully decorated and the staff is extremely friendly. The rooms are stylish, the bathrooms are exceptionally well designed. High quality materials are everywhere. We... More

I stayed here and we had the entire castle to ourselves. The staff, food, drinks, etc... are the best and I have never felt freedom on vacation like I did while I stayed here. This is a definate place to stay if you are in or near Zell am See.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for more. We were upgraded to a beautiful room with the best views. The room had lovely wooden beam features and was always warm and cosy. The spa was great after a hard day snowboarding and we had it to ourselves the whole time, which is good as it is... More

If you are going to be in the area, you simply must stay here at least for one night! All rooms and public areas are authentically decorated in an ironic luxurious but medieval style, making for a unique and not-to-be-missed experience! Since it was a slow weekend, we were upgraded to the Gerti von Hofannsthal suite (although we booked a... More
