Found a picture of the Furberg while browsing pictures of Austria during the landing of this holiday, the minute she saw it the wife said "I want to go there". So as part of our holiday I booked 3 nights in a room with balcony and lake view. Absolutely perfect, she was well happy. Fine relaxing 3 days after 5... More

Amazingly charming location right on the shore of Wolfgangsee. Waiting-staff, welcoming, albeit busy yet kind and smily, dressed in Lederhosen Do book as it gets extremely busy. Great local kitchen with some truly outstanding dishes and tastes. Parking at hotel/restaurant tends to get overloaded during peak-seaon, yet there is ample parking closer to the public-swimming area, about 4 minutes picturesque... More

We've been coming here for the best part of 10 years with our Austrian friends. The setting is idyllic and the ambience relaxed and extremely social. The rooms throughout the hotel are very comfortable and well appointed, and almost all have a lake view. Mrs Ebner, the owner with her husband, excels in the kitchen and continually provides delicious and... More

I wish I could give this lovely property a 5-star review, but there was too much noise, no ventilation in the rooms and very impersonal/unfriendly service. I was surprised by the service- given excellent reviews by others- but we stayed 5 nights and not once was I greeted or even acknowledged by a member of the staff. We ate all... More

If you are seeking a stay on the magnificent Wolfgangsee, without the intrusion of the more touristic and crowded St Gilgen, then this might be the place for you. The hotel is located at the end of a road on the opposite shore to St Gilgen (about 2km walk). The great advantage is that there is no passing traffic and... More

I have to admit that I don't usually stay in 3 Star Hotels but if they are all like this one, then I might become a convert. Admittedly it doesn't have the extra 'toys' that you would expect to find in a 4 or 5 star hotel but it certainly doesn't lack quality or comfort. I booked a suite for... More

As the great Austrian man mountain said "I'll be back"! That's a promise because this hotel is in my top 5 of all time for the view alone. When I arrived with my girlfriend and our 20 month old daughter we were greeted by the most polite and well versed receptionist. She was attentive and eloquent whilst cooing over my... More

We stayed for two nights here. Slightly more expensive than most hotels we used this holiday, but good value. Reception staff were welcoming and most helpful. The room was very comfortable with a lovely view over Wolfgangsee toward St Gilgen. Breakfast was exceptional and the evening meals in the restaurant were very good. Waiting staff were very good. There is... More
