The Plains Historic Inn presents as"bed and breakfast". We were a party of 8, renting a total of 4 rooms. The decor was absolutely beautiful. Each room was unique and decorated according to a different decade. The place was filled with beautiful antiques. My bed was very comfortable. The next morning, all 8 of us reported having a cold shower... More

Though we did not stay in Plains but were passing through to FT Benning, we walked around the small town. This Inn is a beautiful place to stay for a relaxing vacation. WE were allowed to view the rooms, and then browse the shops below.

We booked our room sight unseen. What luck! Staying in Plains, a very small town gave us a great feel for what Jimmy Carter and his Presidency was all about. There are only 7 rooms in the Inn so we were lucky to get one. We chose the 1940's as it had two twin beds and all the others have... More

I recently held a board meeting/retreat at the Inn and it was the best we've had yet. We rented all 7 rooms at the Inn and held our meetings at the large table in the common area. Each room was delightfully appointed and quite large. The high ceilings and brick walls in each are a reminder that this was once... More

We arrived late. With a phone call a few minutes prior, our hostess was waiting for us when we arrived. She gave us a key and showed us where the food was for morning continental breakfast. She allowed us to bring our bike inside overnight. And although we had reserved the 1980 room, we could choose among the 3 vacant... More

A visit to the Plains Historic Inn and the surrounding area is a must if you are in the area. The Inn is quaint and comfortable, and the hospitality of Jan and all of the people of Plains is beyond compare. Make reservations and get into town before 5 pm on the day of your stay. Take time to enjoy,... More

We were advised by a fellow traveller to visit Plains, Georgia and to stay in this wonderful Historic Inn. Once we had visited the Jimmy Carter Museum and Library in Atlanta, we made our way to Plains, and unfortunately found that the Historic Inn was booked out that night (it was a Saturday). We were asked if we would like... More

The Plains Historic Inn is adorable. We planned to visit the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site and wanted to have a real Plains experience. The rooms are huge and decorated in themes of each decade from 1920 to 1980. The 1970 room is the Presidential room, because after all, that's when Jimmy Carter became president. Frankly I thought it was... More

I stayed at this hotel by accident and it turned out to be an extraordinary experience. I really enjoyed my stay there. The very meticulous and detailed decoration on each room made me feel as I was living a dream. I got to stay in the 70’s room for one night and another in the 60’s room. I wish I... More

I've stayed in many B&B's from Florida to Montana, but the Plain's Historic Inn is by far the best! From the staff that makes you feel like family to the beautiful accommodations and the historic details, this is the place for you if you want to feel part of South Georgia's rich history and experience real southern hospitality. Who knows,... More
