Having read other reviews I felt compelled to relate our experience of the charming Frau Hoffman, as the most bizarre feature of her despotic rule has not been mentioned by other reviewers. On the transfer coach from the airport our Travel Rep made a special announcement for guests staying at the Seewinkel to the effect that the hotel had a... more

Had we known that Thomson had dropped this hotel from their brochure for 2009 we certainly would not have stayed at the Seewinkel. Although the location of the hotel on the lakeside is beautifil the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. The food was basic and in my opinion I would anticipate that most of the left overs... more

My wife and I have just returned from a 2-week holiday at the Hotel Seewinkel in Fuschl am See. The total holiday was excellent. The hotel was extremely clean, the food excellent and all staff very pleasant and obliging. The lake view room was large and fully fitted and the balcony gave a magnificient view of the lake and surrounding... more

The best view and very romantic beach, (small) but nice rooms! But the owner was rude from the beginning on! The breakfast also small (only a bit cheese and sausage, nuts, not really 4*, also no possibility to pay with creditcards) . Often it is very noisy also, because of the "Mallorca-Ballermann-Events" in the Garden (with very terrible loud music)". Generaly... more

Just had a 10 day Holiday at the Hotel Seewinkel and throughly enjoyed it. The location is superb as it has its own beach on the Lakeside. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The dining room overlooks the lake and every table has a beautiful view. Free boats, bikes and packed lunches. Ideal for... more

Spent a week at the Seewinkle with my daughter and her family. To me (and I have holidayed in as many as 100 hotels in Austria, Switzerland and Germany) the hotel had all the charm of a good Austrian hotel. Good food, comfortable, clean room, friendly family and staff. Yes - a very good week. Thank you Seewinkle. more

Other reviews have called this hotel the Fawlty Towers of Austria but those were 2007. It seems that the wife of the proprietor has taken note of last year's comments and has mellowed somewhat. We stayed at the Seewinkel as part of a 34 strong group. Some members reported that their rooms were cramped but ours (no. 23) was spacious,... more

We stayed at this hotel for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Excellent food and restaurant service and a great location on the edge of the town/village. We found the owner hospitable as were the rest of the staff, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The free packed lunches were huge, four meat/chesse filled rolls, fruit and biscuits, more... more

A friend and I stayed in this hotel for a week last July. The holiday was booked through Inghams who described it a s4* .The hotel is in a very pleasant position on the shores of the lake but the service was abysmal. On going down for breakfast on our first morning we sat at a table for two and... more

This holiday was arranged through Thomsons Lakes & Mountains on a half board basis. From the moment we arrived Mrs Hofmann ruled the hotel with a rod of steel with no consideration being given to guests. Her favourite word is "no" and you will hear it often, especially in the dining room where you will be treated to very public... more
