When we first arrived, the door was locked. We were greeted by Pat, who sat us down and gave us lemonade for about 30 minutes even though we had just driven 8 hours and wanted to go rest. She was kind, although very intense when it came to punctuality. The Rose of Sharon room was clean but small, the guests... More

My husband, teenage daughter, and I recently spent three nights at the Custer Mansion, hosted by Pat and Bob. Upon arrival, we were greeted by both and were invited to sit down to chat with lemonade and cookies! The family-suite was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to those who frequent B&Bs.... More

Great place to stay!! Rooms are cozy, comfortable, and clean. Pat and Bob are excellent hosts and gave expert advice on what to see in the area. The breakfast was amazing, broiled grapefruit and homemade tamales and eggs. Will stay there again!

We had another wonderful time at this B&B. There were 6 of us this time, and our friends really enjoyed the hospitality of the owners, Bob and Pat! Nice to be able to have the feeling of home when you are traveling. We always stay in the same room and just love the atmosphere and beautiful Victorian furnishings. Wonderful breakfasts... More

We had such a wonderful stay at Custer Mansion. We were a party of three, with 1 couple staying in the Evergreen Room and 1 single adult staying in the Rose Room. Both rooms were beautifully furnished, each with it's own bathroom. They were located on the upstairs floor of the mansion where it was peaceful and private. The location... More

We are two couples in our 60's, retired teachers, that ride rails to trails bike trips around the country. We usually stay in B & B's. We arrived at the Custer Mansion B & B in late Sept, the first night of a seven day bike trip. After asking to keep our expensive bikes in the garage for the night,... More

We stayed in the "Rose of Sharon". The room was small (so was the price). It was comfortable and the bath was fine. The bedroom did not have a TV but the common room did. The hosts were the best part of the experience. They were very friendly and helpful about finding a place to eat, suggestions on what to... More

We spent 3 nights here in the Evergreen Room. Our visit started off badly when we called to say we were going to be a little later than the designated check in time, saying where we were and that we hadn't had dinner. Bob made a point of saying we needed to check in before looking for dinner! Pat met... More

We have to admit, we stayed in the Evergreen Suite and the bed was less comfortable than sleeping on a rock. My wife was calling places at midnight to book a different hotel room due to the pain we were experiencing. We couldn't sleep and had to check out a day early. The worst thing was the we booked for... More

We road tripped it from Sacramento east to the Bad Lands, Rushmore, and many wonderful spots, stayed in a number ofgood B&Bs, but were disappointed in this one. Pleasant matron, good breakfast and clean room, however we were upset and insulted by the coowner, Bob I think his name was. At the first morning meal a young couple from Italy... More
