We have stayed at the Rocket for many years since 1963 and found it to be the best value in custer. Glenda and her dog always made us feel at home. We spent 5 nights at the Rocket Motel (after spending 2 nights at another location in Custer). Great place to stay, rooms were clean (you noticed this as soon as you walked in), great "base camp" for seeing the sites around Custer, plus we were given a discount for staying so many nights. Motel was very small and has not been updated, but it was clean and that is all we wanted. I called 20 hotels in Keystone and Custer and this was the cheapest. There was internet, but it was slow. There was even a tiny refrigerator. The shower could use an update but was roomy. The owner was really nice. more

We stayed only one night, but it was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff person (manager, owner?) was very nice and helpful. The price was reasonable and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a basic clean motel. more
