My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Chief Motel in June of 2013. We were in the Black Hills with our motorcycles, and the truck and trailer we used to haul our bikes to the area. The owners were extremely accommodating, and made sure we had a place to park all our vehicles. The room was clean, the... More

Bit late putting this review on but we all thought this was the best place we stayed in our Out West trip a year or so back. The owners were so friendly and funny and helpful that we all want to go back if only to see the owners again... Everything was clean and very comfortable and the pool was... More

This motel was a wonderful surprise. Selected the motel on line driving to Custer SD. It was more than expected. Very Clean, excellent location and we were able to walk to dinner and breakfast, which is important when you are driving all day. The owners couldn't have been any nicer, they gave us wonderful suggestions and coupons to restaurants. Do... More

Stayed three nights attending the Buffalo Round-up. Room was very clean and comfortable. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful. Liked the designated parking right outside the room, and the chairs right outside your front door on the porch. Would definitely stay there again!

Clean, decent size rooms, good location, everything walkable in Custer. Staff so friendly and heplful. $1.99 breakfast voucher was superb value. This was one of the best stays we had on our 2 week road trip, and we would have happily stayed a week here!

We had a very pleasant experience here during our 3 night stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Everything was in working order. Bedding was good and it was quiet at night. We got the free pass to Custer Park for staying 3 nights. We also bought the 1.99 breakfasts, which I thought were not only great values, but an excellent... More

This motel is a great value at $67.49 a night for a room with two queen beds. The husband and wife, owners for 18 years, are very friendly and know the area well. They gladly answered our questions and made us feel welcome. The room was quiet and very clean. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. We stayed... More

Great value, clean, friendly staff!! Motel provided a safe place to park my bike out of the weather. Provided a place to wash bike and towels. I will defently be staying here again. The motel offered a great price on breakfast and a pass to Custer state park for free. Large indoor pool hot tub and sauna.

Check in was a breeze. Clean and comfortable room, slept great. Water pressure in shower was good and plenty of hot water. Parking right in front of room, refrigerator and microwave in room. Table and chairs in room was nice feature. Only complaint - no hair dryer in room and didn't pack one for trip. However, finally inquired at office... More

2 night stay while exploring the area. Upon check in the front desk dude gave a 5 minute low down on the area and provided a map and pictures. Room was just what we needed for a place to sleep at the end of the day..Nothing fancy, clean and nice to have the microwave and fridge.
