Outstanding value! Not a typical "chain" hotel which makes this place perfect. The hotel was very clean and the staff was awesome. The restaurant was great and received a seal of approval from my German wife. Breakfast is typical European style...it was exactly like being in Germany, surpassing our expectations. For those looking for a unique place to enjoy the... More

Our daughter selected this motel. It is privately owned and not a chain. We enjoyed the complementary breakfast--warm crusty rolls and a platter of salami and cheese. It was not too heavy for breakfast and 'held' you until lunch as there is a lot of walking to do while seeing the sights. Their fruit was very fresh. Other more usual... More

At the end of April, 2012, my husband and I visited Custer, SD for 3 days. We stayed in the Bavarian Inn Motel which is situated at the very picturesque place and convenient for visiting famous sights! The motel has a tennis court, a swimming pool, a nice restaurant, but most of all, we were exited with a very cozy... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in June on our South Dakota adventure. The motel was nice enough, probably fairly priced for the Black Hills. The inn was conveniant to many of the Black Hills attractions we visited: Custer State Park, Wind Cave, and the Faces. The free continental breakfast was fine but not fancy. We ate at the restaurant... More

We visited in November so the rate was really low at $59. The room was old and the hallway was run down with beat up carpet. However, the mattress was new, firm and clean (I searched for bed bugs and didn't find any.) The room had a tiny bathroom and the sink was out in the bedroom area. Still, it... More

During a recent enjoyable trip through the Black Hills I was nearing Custer and there was the Bavarian. It looked great, probably beyond budget, but stopped in anyway. When I heard $50 for the night , I booked in immediately. Initially I was a little concerned about the double wide patio style enterance doors, but the between glass blinds worked... More

This is a nice place to stay. Folks were friendly. Our room was clean and comfy. While this motel is on the main road (16) to Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore, there was ZERO road noise because of the way the motel is situated on the lot. We got a super rate on our room because it was off-season. Highly... More

Upon our arrival in the area of Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore it was pouring rain and late. We had stopped at a visitor center earlier and picked up a guide. As we were searching for a place along the roads I just happened to see a small add in the book about the Bavarian Inn and it was only... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during our visit to Custer State Park in October. It had absolutely everything we could have needed. it was clean and very spacious and the bed very comfortable. We needed to do laundry and they had a laundry room which worked out perfectly for us. There was a pool, hot tub,tennis... More
