Owners/managers were extremely friendly and helpful! We were tent camping and they couldn't have nicer...from helping us with restaurant recommendations to providing us with an extension cord. Bathrooms were extremely clean and laundry facilities were sufficient. I highly recommend this campground.

We camped in the back of the park in the tent area. The shower house is an amazing amenity afforded to anyone staying at Big Pine, whether tent or RV. It is kept very clean (and warm when it's chilly out)! Ron and Angie are super nice folks that definitely love what they do. My party had originally planned on... More

We just completed a vacation tour of North and South Dakota with our pop-up trailer. We hadn't planned to camp here but we're very glad that we did. As another reviewer said, the host's number 1 priority is their guests. As is typical, we arrived late. Ron led us to our campsite, helped back us in and made sure the... More

We've been out to this area several times and this was our first time ar this campground, but certainly not our last. The bathrooms were incredibly clean, the laundry facilities were excellent and the campground sites were perfect - the best part was the couple who owned the campground. They could not have been more informative, helpful or accommodating as... More

Ron and Angie.... what can we say. Very nice and accommodating..clearly their number 1 priority is their guests. Even their dog "Bo" seemed to understand this. Campground was very nice with plenty of privacy and tall lodgepole pines. Showers were like new and very well maintained. We loved our stay and will definitely come back! Thank-you for making our Black... More

Lauryn and I rolled into town quite late. We called ahead based on Trip Advisor reviews and we were taken very good care of from then on. Angie set us up for a late arrival. Ron dropped off firewood to the campsite to boot. After setting up our tent and getting dinner we came back to a torrential downpour and... More

We checked into this campground on May 28 and left June 2 and it was hard to leave. It was a great place to stay and visit all the surrounding sites. The campground was quiet and peaceful and offered everything we needed. Ron and Angie are the best hosts. We left to check things around town and upon our return... More

This is a gem! To find a campground like the Big Pine in the midst of such a tourist mecca is amazing. Lots of beautiful Ponderosa Pines for shade, large, huge sites staggered throughout the woods along with all the amenities. Well, almost all. There isn't any tv reception or cable but the WIFI is nice and strong throughout the... More

I can be a very fussy person. I found nothing wrong with this campground. Our site was clean, and well shaded with nice trees. The owner helped back into the spot. the restrooms were immaculate. We had a wonderful stay.

We visited Mt Rushmore in September of 2014 and stayed at the Big Pine Campground. We reserved a cabin for our stay and we were so impressed. It was clean and well designed. The heat/air worked (been places it didn't) and the beds were Queen sized and extremely comfortable. The staff was informative about Rushmore as well as made great... More
