Superb shower house that is always clean and fully functional. Towering pine trees with their pleasant aroma and huge rocks where you can sit and read or think. Ron and Angie, the owners, couldn't be more gracious and attentive. This is the genuine Black Hills experience. The only reason to stay anywhere else is if they are full. Oh yes,... More

This campground has on site owners who really care about their property and it shows. Sites are mostly level, there is generous spacing between campsites, Wifi is strong and dependable. Water pressure is good, as is electricity. There is no cable but you might luck out and be able to pick up some Rapid City stations (we were not). Facilities... More

We camped at Big Pine in mid September as part of our road trip from west to east (Seattle to Boston) across the U.S. We stayed at many campgrounds in national parks and privately run during our 6 week trip and this has been the best so far. Clearly it's run by people who have used campsites themselves and know... More

Favorite spot to stay in Custer. Cabins are BEST we've ever stayed at - great price and air conditioning too! Big Pine is just outside of town and is quiet and convenient. Best campground to stay at in the best small town in the country.

Even though the weather was terrible during our visit the campground was wonderful! I am a tent camper, and I felt right at home among the nice RVs. The facilities were always keep immaculate, the WiFi was great, and the service was excellent. There is plenty of shade even though we didn't need it due to rain and fog. I... More

Big Pine Campground is what campgrounds should be...a beautiful setting, level sites, and well-cared for amenities. The campsites are shaded with big trees and are well-spaced. We stayed here for three nights while visiting the Black Hills and found it to be well-situated for touring the area. The owners are very friendly and are clearly working hard to polish up... More

We stayed three nights while visiting the local attractions. This is a wonderful campground! The lots are spacious, and there are lots of trees. The bath houses were very clean and convenient. There are lots of washers and dryers if you need to do laundry. The owners and employees go above and beyond to make this campground so wonderful!

Best campground in South Dakota? Absolutely. Roomy, shady and level campsites? Yes. All the things you hope for in a campground but may not always see when you arrive. This place is as advertised. What's not advertised is the owners. Angie and Ron work they butts off to make your stay at Big Pine very pleasant. Our truck broke down... More

We are just finishing up a week here at Big Pine, and we are absolutely blown away with the hospitality, cleanliness, professionalism and convenience of this campground. In the Black Hills there are a vast number of campgrounds with RV's lined up like soldiers out in the sun. Not here. We have a decent amount of space between sites that... More
