Booking a campground you've never been to is always a crapshoot...at best. This place is the best, I actually had to look hard to find a piece of liter. Ron and Angie are the best..friendly and extremely helpful but they don't want to be your best friend..perfect hosts. Laundry facilities, beautiful shaded sites and spotless shower facilities...and every site has... More

Stayed for 4 days and couldn't have had a better camping experience. Owners are exceptionally accommodating, the facilities are very well kept, and the campsites are tiered (altho level) so it feels spacious. We were there during the Sturgis rally, but our time in the campgrounds was still restful and intimate. We are in a Roadtrek.

We ( my husband and our three kids ages 5, 3, & 1) stayed in one of the VERY nice camping cabins the first week in July. The cabin was exceptional. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was more than enough space. We even wanted to stay longer but unfortunately they were booked. The facilities were nice,... More

Camped at this campground on July 26 & 27 while visiting the Black Hills area. I am very particular about campgrounds and chose this site based on Trip advisor reviews. We tented there for 2 nights. The grounds were quiet and the bathrooms and showers VERY clean!! The owners were helpful in recommending the perfect site to my husband for... More

Two families booked here for three days in July during our two week journey and we had the best time! First of all, the owners are super nice and friendly and the campground is clean and well maintained. The sites were a good size for our large travel trailer. Very convenient location and close to downtown Custer, Mt Rushmore, the... More

Excellent weekend get away. Nice and quiet, hot showers and clean I might add. Really friendly people to work with. Quiet hours start at 10 pm which was needed after a long hike to Harney Peak. Close to Custer State Park and many other attractions the Black Hills of South Dakota have to offer. Great stay and will for sure... More

Booked this location based on a neighbor's recommendation. So happy we did so. We are on a 28 day coast to coast and back road trip. We had just encountered 2 days of pretty rough storms in Utah. The couple that owns this place helped us check local weather even showing my nervous daughter a radar report with no storms... More

Very helpful staff from the beginning. Staff escorts you to your site and helps backing in and ensures that you have everything you need. The facilities are clean and in good working order. I will definitely stay here again if stopping in Custer.

The owners, Ron and Angie, are very helpful and friendly. Their knowledge of the area around Custer was great. Big Pine Campground is well maintained and the bath/shower rooms were especially clean. It is well located for easy access to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and Wind and Jewel Caves. We couldn't have asked for a better place... More

We spent 10 days at Big Pine with our family. Ron and Angie Blank are great hosts and always ready with suggestions for side trips around the Custer area. We learned that Big Pine is a destination for a longer stay, not just an overnight. The campground is well maintained. It's a great place to stay.
