This campground is fantastic! It totally exceeded our expectations. We used the covered tent campsite for 2 days, and it's a good thing we did. A serious rainstorm on the second night drove us into the tent and we were perfectly dry in the morning. Steve and Fred took great care of us. They had ice, firewood (3.50 a bundle;... More

Wonderful campground for couples and families surrounded by the beautiful pine trees and the Black Hills. Steve the owner was very friendly and very accommodating to our needs especially when we needed to extend our stay due to a spring storm. The sites were very clean and level which made for an easy set-up of our fifth wheel. The bathroom... More

The campground has something for everyone! From tents to cabins and literally everything in between! There are covered tent sites, tipis, all sized rv sites, and even a covered wagon you can stay in! There is a fort play area for kids and fire pits at every site! The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. The rv sites are the... More

OK, so we do initially have our own ignorance to blame, we arrived in the Black Hills area, for the first time mind you, without a plan--at all. Being blindly ignorant of the method of South Dakota's camping rules, this was not a graceful effort on our part. After flirting with darkness and not having a site to -tent- camp... More

Picking an RV park is always a bit of a crap-shoot. They all look and sound good online. We arrived @ Fort Welikit and my first impression was 'what a dust bowl.' To call the roads gravel would be a very generous description. They are badly rutted dirt and very narrow. A good first step in improving this park would... More

Bill, We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us and that you had issues backing your rig into a site. We do our very best to match a rig with the site but when reservations are made late in the busy summer season the prime sites, such as pull-troughs and/or wide sites are often taken... More

Stayed here over 4th of July weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is a great campground with all the amenities. Our site was a bit tight but comfortable. It was configured in a terraced fashion and gave us a feeling of privacy although we could see our neighbors. Can't say enough about how friendly and helpful the management was!!... More

We were glad to find a great park that is in the trees as advertised. All the perks you could ask for, 50 amps, Sewer and Cable T.V. and yet we still felt like we were camping and not just parked in a big lot. No cookie cutter sites in this park, each was unique and separated from the next... More

This campground is the best campground I have ever seen. Staff was very nice and the location is very pretty. The electric tent site was very well maintained. Bathrooms are great with a shower and real toilet and sink. Multiple water sites made it easy to refill water containers.

This is a very nice RV park nestled in the Black Hills of South Dakota just outside of Custer. This became home base for us as we explored Mt. Rushmore and the surrounding area. Large RV's can be accommodated easily here. Staff are friendly and are willing to assist in any way they can. The RV park has a small... More

We recently stayed here one night to test out our pop-up before we took it on a trip to Colorado. That was a great choice on our part. The campground is quiet and heavily wooded. Because it is off a road that doesn't have much traffic it is pretty quiet. The restrooms are family-style with toilet, sink & shower in... More
