Others have said it -- it's a bit spendy. Our cabin cost about $360/night (that includes taxes). It supposedly holds 10 but that would require 4 per bedroom (2 double beds per room) and 2 on the fold-out couch. We shared the place with another couple and I thought it was very comfortable for the 4 of us. I think... More

We ate at the restaurant and were very surprised at the service. It was a nice meal, but we sat and sat with dirty dishes infront of us. There were only two other occupied tables, and there was another server there as well. So there was absolutely no excuse. I can't remember the server's name, but I think it started... More

We had a wedding there and specifically booked a handicapped cabin and did reaffirm this multiple times many months in advanced. When we arrived after dark the front desk person stated that they have no handicapped cabins and we could not have one. We were assigned the cabin with the most steps up. The next morning in the light of... More

Whichever executive is responsible for managing this lodge on behalf of Custer State Park Resorts should resign. The lodge is in a wonderful location, and the rooms and cabins are fine. However very low standards for the running of reception and in particular the restaurant seem to have been set, and accepted. The wait staff try their best, but essentially... More

We decided to stay at Sulvan Lake Lodge at the last minute, we had planned to camp, but when checking the weather forecast was for cold and rain we decided to get a room. The room was a little pricey, but it seemed in line with the area. We had t purchase a park pass, but the lodge is in... More

My fiancé and I stayed here one night on our trip to Mt. Rushmore/the Bad Lands. I felt the room was a little pricey considering its size. We also had to buy a $15 park pass in order to park our car since it's in the state park. However, the dinner was phenomenal and well-priced for steak so I guess... More

The hotel tried to check us out of our room early twice. The first time they did not tell us and the second time we discovered it when we returned early one day to find all our possession missing from the room. They tried to say we had "changed our reservations" from a full week to one day, even though... More

The location is good. Sylvan Lake is a short ride from the hotel and it is beautiful. The trail up to Harney Peak starts at the lake. The Lake is not visible from the lodge because of the trees. The building is older. Our room was very small and the floors creaked and we could hear the people above us.... More

We stopped for lunch at a quiet time of day. There was only one other table with dining guests in the dining room. The hostess was bored and appeared to be bothered to even show us to a seat. The wait person was pleasant, we waited a very long time for our food and never received our drinks. We ate... More
