Really liked this quirky cabin. One of the sleeping rooms had windows on 3 sides. We watched a fantastic lightening storm from this room one night. We also saw a lot o shooting stars. The kitchen is pretty well equipped. It's very well located for sights north, like some of the hiking and mt Rushmore and sites south, which is... More

Arrived not knowing if we were actually at the 'hotel' as all we could see was a restaurant and shop. Staff on Reception not the friendliest I've ever come across, however we checked in and told where our cabin was - behind the main 'complex'. The cabins can be described as fun. They are small, cramped and very brown. The... More

A little dreary as the lights are low wattage and the carpet, curtains, trim & sofa are all the same color.(Hey folks - there are colors other than brown). But, we had a good time - nothing fancy, it was clean and the bed was comfy. we'd go back.

We stayed in cabin #2 which is located in the back of the complex. View of the lake. Great location as the lodge is close to Custer, Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, State Game Lodge and Wildlife Loop Rd. Everything was clean. No complaints. One room had a full and twin bed. The living room/ dining/ kitchen house the other bed.... More

We've stayed at Custer State Park, State Game Lodge area, Creekside cabin, and another time at the Lodge motel room. The quality of the rooms and cabins was the same- rustic nice. This time we stayed at Legion Lake area due to the proximity to Custer and Hot Springs- two areas we knew we'd be visiting during our week visit.... More

After staying at the Roosevelt cabins in Yellowstone a few years ago we expected the sleeping cabins to be similar. The cabins are actually exactly like a motel room in most motels. The bathroom is a standard bathroom and the beds are standard beds. The bathroom door was swollen and difficult to close and the beds were very firm to... More

We happened over a 2 night cancellation for Legion Lake Resort and jump on the opening. We stayed in a 2 room housekeeping cabin #2 with a view of the lake and easy walk to the lake to go fishing. We typically stay and Sylvan Lake but this location was also nice. The cabin was clean and had a very... More

We chose this place because there was no vacancies in our first choices, like Blue Bell Lodge or Sylvan Lake Lodge. Legion Lake Resort Lodge was located in the heart of Custer State Park, so the location is hard to beat, if you like outdoor activities and explore Black Hills. We stayed in a sleeping cabin. Although we had everything... More

Rented a sleeping cabin for two nights. $145 a night. One room cabin with two beds and a small bathroom. You're not hanging out in your room much so it's ok. Was clean and even had toiletries. Lake is small but pretty. We fished, but didn't catch anything. There is a nice hiking trail around the lake. Josh was helpful... More

Our family wanted to stay in Custer State Park so we chose Legion Lake. We had a cabin which suited our needs perfectly. We didn't want to camp in a tent. This cabin was great. Still in the woods. Still in nature. Close to everything in the park. Great home base for our young family of 4.
