We did not stay here (we stayed at a camping cabin in Bluebell Campground), but ate at the buffet lunch in the dining room here one day. It was delicious, in particular the bison steak tips. They also had ham and roast beef, really good scalloped potatoes, buns, a salad bar which dh said was very fresh and tasty, bison... More

Thank you for your recent review. Creekside Lodge is located on the grounds of the State Game Lodge and is open year round and is a great spot to headquarter out of to discover the Black Hills. I appreciate you taking the time to write the review and I hope you can make a return trip to the Black Hills... More

We visited Custer State Park in March in the off-season and nearly had Creekside Lodge to ourselves. It was a GREAT base from which to visit the surrounding things. The desk hostess was friendly and gave us some good tips. The rooms were comfortable and well stocked. One mark on cleanliness because I smushed an assassin bug and millipede in... More

My wife and I stayed in a historic cabin at the State Game Lodge. The cabin was situated about a hundred yards from the Game Lodge in a valley surrounded by Black Hills mountains and about twenty yards away from a small creek. Check in went smoothly and everything worked fine. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there were... More

We were the first people in our room in the summer of 2008 (Creekside had just opened) so it was spotless. It has an upscale lodge design, plump pillows, spacious feel. Quiet, got an excellent night's sleep. I'd love to come back to the park-- there's a lot to do, even for finicky teenagers, within driving distance. Allow a good... More

Great natural setting for my husband and I. We saw lots of wildlife from our room. Great porch to set on also. We ate here and the food was good but they need to work on their wait staff. This park seems like a National Park instead of a State Park. They have a nice loop drive where you will... More

The AAA book says the restaurant is open 7AM-9PM. But what we didn't know was that they close at 3PM for one hour or so before dinner. We stopped in for a late lunch at around 2:15PM and decided on the buffet because at first glance it looked OK. But the "hot" dishes were all barely warm, not hot. No... More

we did not stay at the lodge-- simply ate in the diningroom while wandering the park. Really good breakfast and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend grabbing something to eat here.

Okay, so it's a little pricey for the size of the room. We stayed in one of the small cabins, and we were not disappointed. You have a store within walking distance and easy access to the lodge's restaurant, which served a darn good breakfast buffet. The best part, however, is the location. When we woke up in the morning,... More

My husband and I did not stay at the lodge however on our on way through the park last night decided to stop in for dinner. It was AWESOME. We had two appetizers, salads and maincourse with tax, tip and everything we came in just under $100. He had a trio shih kabob with elk, beef, and buffalo. He said... More
