30 years ago, we honeymooned in Custer. At that time, we camped in a small tent in a national forest. Middle age has made the idea of sleeping on the ground less attractive than it was when we were young. So for our 30th anniversary trip, I booked a cabin at Gold Camp. We'd still have the ability to cook... More

I want to stay here every time I visit Custer! The family and I (myself, hubby, baby and pup) had the opportunity to get away for a long weekend and on a whim booked this place. From the pics, my husband was complaining it wasn't what he wanted but by the time we chatted with the employees, stepped into our... More

We decided to try a different type of lodging for this trip to the Black Hills and wanted something away from the touristy noise and away from the highways. We decided to give this place a try after reading reviews here and were not disappointed! The log cabins were well made, very clean and the beds very comfortable. The water... More

My husband & I rented a small cabin which had one queen size bed & a twin bed in the loft upstairs. We didn't use the upstairs area but it would have been great for kids. We thought the value was great (stayed 4 nights) and the area was very nice and quiet and close enough to everything touristy. The... More

We stayed at Gold Camp Cabins in August 2014. We had a great stay! They are outside of Custer, but close enough to all the sites. The cabins are nicely furnished, and the fire pits are a nice touch. As the other reviews have stated, don't be alarmed by the industrial area on the road in. Once you pass that... More

We stayed here in June 2014. The cabins are very nice on the and comfortable. The scenery outside is beautiful and very enjoyable. The price was also a good deal. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing I would suggest changing is having a few more channel options on the TV. We didn't have much to chose from... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

We arrived in Custer on 22 July without reservations (our original choice proved to be unworkable for our situation). The ladies in the Visitors Center suggested three or four options that met our criteria: cabins, out of town, affordable. Gold Camp Cabins was one of them, and we feel as if we hit the jackpot! We called to check on... More

When we had a family reunion in the area over the 4th of July week and did not book until the last minute, we had few places to choose from. We are not a cabin type of family, so we were hesitant to book this place. But we could have not been happier with our choice. We stayed in the... More

These cabins are just adorable! Like a large log cabin on a smaller scale. We were thrilled when we opened the door! Clean and cozy. Set in a lovely, quiet location. There is a grill, firewood for a camp fire and all the stars you can count! Far enough from the lights of town but close enough to drive in... More

Great alternative to hotels in the Custer area, we enjoyed cozy and comfortable lodging over Labor Day weekend at the Gold Camp Cabins. There are only 5 cabins located in a peaceful setting with great views of the Black Hills forest and an amazing star filled sky at night! Free firewood provided for campfires @ night. The cabins are fairly... More
