We recently stayed here with our well-behaved 9 and 7 yr children (for the traveler from Florida that previously complained and should be banned from traveling themselves for their unrealistic expectations). There are not a lot of choices in the Custer area (outside the park) and we found the Super 8 met our needs. We were looking for an economical... more

this is a newer hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooms nice and clean. The breakfast was good they had more than just your basic breads. The shower wasn't very warm in the morning but was fine in the evening. more

We booked months early, asking for ground floor because of our pets. When we arrived, we had to BEG for a ground floor room. Keep track of your reservation records and requests. When we arrived, we asked for a refrigerator, and were told we were supposed to have reserved one when we reserved the room. Excuse me! How were we... more

We are definately located in a family destination area and children can get pretty wild sometimes. We sometimes wish we could control people, but that can be difficult. We do our best to accomodate everyone including guests with pets. We have had some pets do some major damage in the past and that is why we have the pet policy....

We were very satisfied with our stay at Super 8. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The breakfast buffet wasn't the best; but overall we would recommend it and stay here again if we are in the area. more

Stayed here for four nights in late May before the real "tourist season" began. The staff was so friendly and helpful, answering all our questions, drawing accurate maps, making restaurant recommendations, etc. The room was always immaculate. We practically had the pool and hot tub to ourselves. We booked three rooms with very specific requirements and when we checked in,... more

We were quite pleased with our stay at the Custer Super 8 motel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. The room was very clean (and we are picky about cleanliness), beds comfortable, good breakfast and some of the most greatest front desk help! Somehow our reservations were mixed up (probably my fault), but no problem, manager took care of... more

Stayed for 10 nights in order to explore S.D. and Wyoming, massive room with 2 queen beds, lovely bathroom and lovely pool! I swam every morning and it was only in the evenings it got a bit busy. Great location, although walking into town was a bit of a walk! Internet on computer in reception so i could stay in... more

We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel room as there is so much to do in the Black Hills, but when we were there it was pleasant. No real problems that I can remember which is always a good sign for a hotel, breakfast was always okay. Most of the hotels in Custer are in town, and... more

The Super 8 in Custer is the perfect place to stay while touring the Black Hills area. The helpful staff gave us some recommendations for dinner when we checked in. Check in was efficient and our room was spotless. The room had 2 queen sized beds and was fairly large. The sink was located outside of the bathroom. The fan/AC... more

We stayed here for one night while traveling in the Black Hills region. Custer is sort of central to a lot of attractions: Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, other caves, etc. The hotel faces the highway and it's a little west of the downtown area, so traffic isn't as heavy there. Finding the place... more
