the location is great for exploring custer state park, the needles and the various caves. We had a room with king bed, and sofa. the room had a slight stale smell but fortunately the window could be opened and it aired out quickly. the AC was rather noisy as most are and cycled on and off . Since it was... More

Our family of 4 stayed in July. Balcony in the room was nice, but we were on the highway side, the view in the back of the hotel is much nicer. Beautiful water fall and courtyard with a fire pit in the back. Indoor pool area was nice. Pool was a nice size, but the hot tub temperature was HOT.... More

We stayed here 2 nights. I'm only giving it a slightly lower rating because we stayed at another Holiday Inn Express in Mitchell, SD which had a much nicer and larger room at a lower rate. I understand that this is a more prime location, of course. The hotel is in a great location in Custer, and the setting is... More

My mother, two boys, and I stayed here in mid August when visiting the area to see Mt. Rushmore and the surrounding area. After debating which hotel/cabin and town I wanted to stay in for weeks, I was very happy with our choice. The room was large and clean, with three beds total including the pull out couch. Our room... More

We stayed her (10 people total) for 3 nights on the first leg of our 2 wk trip out West. First Custer is a great location for seeing Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills, Needle Hywy, Wildlife Loop, and longer trip to th eBadlands. We stopped in Keystone, and liked Custer much more because if had more of a small town feel... More

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Custer for a week in August 2014. We chose Custer as our home base as it was centrally located in the Black Hills. The hotel was very nice and our room with a balcony was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The complementary breakfast was varied (oatmeal, eggs, turkey sausage, bacon, pancakes, toast, bagels,... If you can handle the winding turns and drive then this place is about the nicest place in Custer. The pool and hot tub area are nice. The lobby is very nice also. The beds are comfortable, and we found the room to be very clean. The bad part of our trip was that the hotel key card reader didn't... More

This is a superior Holiday Inn Express. It's very clean, quiet, modern and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and equipped with refrigerators. There is an indoor pool. The staff are very friendly. The hot breakfast is excellent and is served in a spacious dining area. If you feel like eating outside, there's a very nice patio with several tables. The... More

Very pleasant stay, even though it was bike rally week, and there were tens of thousands of bikers in the city. The hotel was packed, but the service was still very good. The breakfast servers work overtime to insure the food is hot and plentiful

We recently stayed here and had one of the best nights sleep weve ever had in the USA. ! The hotel is based on the edge of town but a 10 min walk gets you into the centre. Parking is more than ample, breakfast good but they need more staff on serving duty at busy times.....overall very good hoel.
