Palomino Ranch is a very relaxing place to stay for a few days or a week. The rooms are comfortable, immaculate clean and tastefully decorated with antiques. The grounds are beautiful and horses are available for riding. The horses and stables are in top condition and extremely well cared for. The staff speaks only Spanish, but is very friendly and... THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. The staff and the owner all of them really nice people. Don't go some where else. You will love this hotel. Is not too far from the ruins and the horse ride they offer its nice. The guide took us to a salty lake. First time I heard about a salty water lake. The food it's... More

We stayed here for two nights and basically had the place to ourselves! The grounds were beautiful with the animals around and the pool was much appreciated after a long day at the Tikal ruins. Room was comfortable and dinner was a good price. The staff are very helpful. My only negative was that the music they kept playing was... More

We spent here 3 amazing days. the staff is friendly, the location great, the food delicious and the hourses outstandind. We did a lot of Horseback Riding during our trips but there horses you can find here are absoult different to the others you normally get as a tourist. The owner really loves his horses and spent a lot of... More

Very interesting, enjoyable and informative 2.5 hr ride. Amazing views of the lake, beautiful wooded trail, many Mayan sites and monkeys. Better than a trip to Tikal. Horses well looked after and staff excellent. Owner has a passion for horses and environent. Best day out in my 3 mths in Guate.

The best part of all was the staff! All of them were so helpful, friendly and professional. The girls made us feel so at home and Senor Diaz was a fantastic horseback riding guide. He took us on trails past Mayan tombs nearby and to beautiful vista locations with incredible panoramic views. The ranch is in walking distance to several... More

This place was pretty unpleasant. I can see in the past that it may have been nice but sadly for them the last two years have been very wet so the lake is much higher. This will be the case for at least a couple of years now. The effect on this hotel has been sad. It's now a swamp... More

Unique hotel. It is really charming! The owner collects antiques and use them as decoration. The room is spacious and cosy. The only thing we did not like was the bathroom: the hot water was not constant and the shower drain did not work well. The staff was very nice and helpful. It is in front of Lake Petén Itzá... We stayed at The Palomino Ranch Hotel, although the staff didn't speak much English they were so patient with my little Spanish. They still helped us arrange transfers, day trip to Tikal, horse riding in the jungle where you come across Mayan ruins and can hear howler monkeys. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The horses are well... More
