We were hot and tired after a long trip by car. Moving our son into his new apartment required a U-Haul and two SUVs. It was over 100 degrees that day and the refreshingly clean king room with pullout sofa seemed like heaven that night when we checked in. Staff was exceptionally pleasant and professional. The hotel was nearly booked... more

Located in the Garden District next to Superior Grill. Free Parking and continental breakfast included in price. Well-lit parking lot, doors locked at night - felt very safe here. Street Car stops at hotel. Easy to get downtown or to French Quarter on Street Car for just $1.25. Beats the cost of parking! Clean, nice size room - included mini... more

We have been staying here for the past four years when they have availability as our daughter is a Tulane student. It's right on the streetcar line, you can park your car in a safe lot out back and is within walking distance to Superior Grill. more

this was my second trip to New Orleans and I was delighted to find the hotel is on the route of one of the main Mardi Gras routes, resulting in the trees dripping leftover colorful beaded necklaces. Kind of a unique New Orleans version of Spanish Moss. A cabbie told me that prior to Hurricane Catrina, men with long poles... more

If you've ever stayed in a Hampton Inn, you know the drill, but I think this one is a bit below average. Desk clerk did the minimum, couldn't wait to get back to the book he was studying. The "cheese and tea" evening reception should be avoided if you enjoy either cheese or tea. Cheese choices are small cubes of... more

My wife and I had a 2 night, 3 day anniversary trip to New Orleans in early February of 2009. We flew in and out of N.O. and took the Airport Shuttle to and from the Hampton. We arrived earlier than check-in time, but the room was ready. Since we had not been to the city in several years, we... more

The New Orleans tourism site offered 'Papa Noel' rates for many hotels over Christmas. We selected the Hampton Inn hotel as it was closest to our family and out of the crowded touristy French Quarter. It was a great choice! Lovely lobby area. An outdoor lap pool (too cold to use in Dec.) and open cocktail type area to congregate... more

I travel to New Orleans on business once a month or so. I like the personal feel of this hotel. The staff is very friendly and the lobby is a nice size...you don't feel overwhelmed. The lobby has a computer for surfing the web or you can do WiFi in your room which I connected to with no problems. The... more

I stayed at the Hampton Inn Garden District for a week with my 86 year old mother and 3 daughters while we were visiting my sister. The rooms were a nice size, with a refrigerator and microwave. The beds are very comfortable. The cheese, fruit and tea reception in the late afternoon is a nice way to relax after a... more

Stayed at this hotel for the BCS Championship Game weekend and enjoyed it! Staff was friendly, and the price was not bad for a busy weekend. Bed was comfortable and room was decent size. Bathroom was clean and always had plenty of hot water. However, the pipes are a bit noisy so if you are a light sleeper ask for... more
