For the last 3 years, my wife and I have stayed at the Ambassador Hotel for our anniversary staycation. We've stayed at other hotels downtown in previous years, including the Ritz-Carlton. While I'm not saying it's the Ritz-Carlton, for a 1/3 of the price it is by far a better value. The exposed brick, hardwood floors and high ceilings give... More

Shaun, thank you so much for your kind recommendation. We're honored that you've chosen to celebrate your anniversary staycation here with us for the last several years. You're right, we're in a great location, and it sounds like you've definitely taken advantage. That, coupled with a beautiful atmosphere makes for the perfect anniversary weekend. We'd love to welcome you back... More

My wife and I read the reviews written by other people who express their feeling about the hotel. We paid our money in advance because this was the first time we traveled with a group so we were a little apprehensive as to what to expect. The hotel was under construction, when we got to the hotel that night we... More

Things have been a little different around here due to the renovations, but I couldn't be happier that you and your husband had such a nice stay. This sort of feedback is always great, especially from seasoned travelers like yourselves. The River Walk and Bourbon Street are both great excursions, and you had the right idea stopping in at the... More

We were skeptical due to the reviews, but we booked 2 rooms here anyway, and our family really liked it! When we first pulled up, we loved the New Orleans-style exterior. When we first walked in, the hotel didn't smell very good and it took forever to check-in. There was not even a line, but the man behind the counter... More

Thanks for your patience, Rena. We're thrilled that you loved your room once you saw it, and that you slept so well. It's always good to rest up between all the great sight seeing and delicious dishes! Hope you'll keep us in mind next time you're in town! Best, Steve Hoida - GM More

Loved loved loved our stay here. We came to Nola with no car and chose this hotel bc it was central to everything we wanted to visit and we were willing to walk. Staff was great. They offered great restaurant reviews and told us about some cool spots we didn't know about. Our room was great. Comfy beds and all.... More

We apologize if your sleep was interrupted, Amber, but we're glad we were able to help quiet your neighbors. That aside, we're thrilled that you were so pleased with your stay, and we hope to welcome you back during your next trip to New Orleans. Until then, thanks for the fantastic review! Alright. I really, really wanted to like this hotel. I read all of the traveler reviews and, against my better judgment, decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. I will begin with the pros. The hotel is located a couple of minutes' walk from ANYTHING that you might want to do. You are literally across the street from... More

I'm glad everyone was friendly and accommodating, Lily, but I'm disappointed to hear about the experience in your room. We appreciate your feedback, and luckily, renovations should be completed soon. It's good to know that Patrick was able to help you out, and I sincerely hope you'll come back and give us another chance. All the best, Steve Hoida -... More

Although rustic and without a pool, this adorable hotel was in a perfect location to Bourbon Street, the street cars, the Casino and every other popular destination in New Orleans. I loved the old-style brick building with the indoor French apartment doors and windows on each room. Our room had no view to the outside; but the shrimp poor boys... More

I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay so much. There's really no better way to kick start a vacation than with po'boys and drinks! Most of all, I'm happy to hear that your room was so comfortable and that our location was so convenient for you. It sounds like you really made the most of your time here in the... More

Over 300 a night for a dump. Extremely unhappy. False advertising! Came to see Paul McCartney. Hope he's better. Nasty! Nasty! Nasty! I will probably get asthma from the dust. Thank goodness I am up to date on my shots!

I'm so sorry to hear you were so disappointed in your stay with us. We do have some renovations going on that might be creating a bit more dust and chaos than usual, but keeping our hotel clean and safe even during the renovations is our number one priority, and I apologize that you found it to be anything less.... I stayed here for 2 nights for a conference at the convention center. It is within close proximity to many sites. The hotel was nice and gives a good impression about the history of the city. Rooms are nice.

I stayed here for a night because of a great online deal. In short, it was horrible. Before even arriving at my room, I confronted darkened corridors, a man loitering in the hall and an atmosphere of heavy construction. The room itself was small, had no window (except to the corridor) and an air conditioning unit in the bathroom that... More

I'm sorry that we didn't live up to your expectations when you stayed with us, David. We want to be as clear as possible about the construction with guests, but it sounds like we dropped the ball when you were booking. I'll touch base with the staff about communicating this better, and I hope you'll consider coming back when the... More

The hotel was under renovation and should have been closed until renovation was completed. I killed a roach in my room. I was originally assigned a room on the first floor which smelled worst than a wet basement. I was then given a room on 3. They need to just close up until they can do better. In the middle... More

Let me first say that although we're in the middle of construction, we would never want you to be uncomfortable here. The team cleans every room on a regular basis, and I'm shocked to read that you found a roach. I'll make sure to look into this further with the rest of the staff. As for the rest of your... More
