We hesitated quite a bit before booking, because the reviews were mostly negative. But I'm happy to say that we had a very pleasant stay! A sweet and helpful receptionist checked us in, half an hour before official check in time. The room, on the top floor (419), was large, very clean and convenient. Because I've spent about an hour... It was my cousin's bachelorette party (weekend). We were taken by surprise when valet was & $32 a night but parking was outrageous everywhere. The room was VERY small with two beds, a mirror and a tiny bathroom. The atmosphere was INCREDIBLE. The room and hallways were incredibly clean and the service was beyond amazing. They ladies at the front... More

Our first night the hotel was over booked and we were moved to The O'Keefe horrible hotel! The next day upon check-in we were upgraded into a nice room great view and the manager Patrick Wilson took great care of us. The staff was friendly and helpful a definite great hotel to stay in New Orleans!!

After having not been to New Orleans since I was still a kid I was pretty unfamiliar with were most of the sights were. The Ambassador was centrally located. My family loved the old schoolness of our room. The front desk and the bellhop were extremely helpful and friendly and she even tried to talk me out of wasting money... More

Room 223. The standard King rooms were nice size. I think the wood floors are a very nice touch but be careful, as they're very slick and could cause injury if you're not aware. The hot water handle on the faucet creaked the whole time in the vanity- like metal grinding on metal. Amenities, etc. were fine. No problems. Rooms... More

Thanks for following up with us after your stay, Kristina. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed so many things about our hotel, but I'm sorry to see you consider our convenience fee a negative. We try our best to make guests aware of this charge from the time they book a room with us, and I hope you'll understand it's... More

I'm currently staying at this hotel, and the only reason I haven't switched hotels is because my organization booked the hotel and is paying for it. The front desk was helpful upon arrival (saving this review from receiving 1 star), and when I first entered my room, I was thrilled at how big it is and the huge ceiling! However,... More

I sincerely apologize that your room isn't as clean as it should be, and I want you to know we plan on addressing this as soon as possible. The best way to ensure this gets taken care of in a timely manner is to let our front desk staff know. Have you given them a call yet? If not, please... More

I reviewed a few different hotels before finally deciding on The Ambassador with its unique downtown charm. I Loved the history of the place and even after reading some of the reviews. We arrived a little before check in time and Edwin was nice enough to unload our car and get it parked so that we could make it to... More

I was very nervous about staying at The Ambassador after reading the reviews here. I took 44 teenagers on a field trip and was afraid I'd have a ton of complaints. But our tour company booked us here and I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. I was very pleasantly surprised. Let me start with the negatives. Not... More

It's great to hear you were so pleasantly surprised by us, Henry! I hope you'll understand that not all our rooms are created equal because our building is a renovated warehouse. We try our best to give an accurate representation of what most of the units look like on our website, but because we established our hotel in a pre-existing... More

This hotel is in a great location! 7-10 minute walk to the French Quarter and Jackson Square. We had several friends stay here and everyone was pleased with their rooms and the historic character of the hotel. You may want to call and book or check out the website for a free upgrade or 10% off. We booked the double... More

I would've liked for you to have a friendly check-in and check-out experience too, and I'm sincerely sorry that wasn't the case. However, I'm relieved to hear that didn't keep you from giving us two thumbs up. I hope you'll keep us in mind next time you're planning a trip to New Orleans! Safe travels, Richie Aquilar - GM More
