A friend of mine and I met up in New Orleans for three days and totally loved our room! Dark floor boards and industrial architecture meets retro furniture in there. The bed was huge for two and so so comfy! We hardly wanted to get up in the morning it was so nice and cozy. There was plenty of space... More

Aeneken Thanks for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed the bed and the design of the rooms. The new renovation is definitely being much appreciated by guests and I'm confident when we debut our new lobby the good feedback will continue. Yes, breakfast is a bit of "carbohydrate affair" (I'm sorry, but that was sort of funny) but very soon,... More

We really like this place. The staff was really nice and helpful for the tours or directions. We were suppose to have a double bed for me and my sister and we end up with a room with two queen beds ! The room was beautiful with a old vintage style and some old blues playing in the elevator. The... More

I stayed in this hotel during Febuary 16-20th. During mardi grass parking is rough with street closures and high priced parking. The hotel was being renovated but not a problem. Staff was friendly and polite. Only downside was the mini bar charges days after I got back home. It took 3 phone calls to get my money back. For stuff... More

I spent 4 nights in the hotel and I can only agree with others that the lobby and entrance area appears filthy and smelled mouldy. They are currently remodelling the hotel and it's kind of mazy to find your way back to your room. The room was a surprise though with wooden floor boards, a great mattress and super comfy... More

Christin S Thank you for the review. I am sorry we didn't inform you about the convenience fee - it covers continental breakfast and WiFi during your stay and is $9.95 per night. We do our best to let everyone know about it upon making their reservation and then again at check-in. You can always opt out of it and... More

The Ambassador hotel was a great hotel overall. The bed was super comfy, the room was really nice (although my bf complained the bathrooms are too small, but I didn't mind them). We couldn't even tell they were doing renovations! And the best part was that it's walking distance to the French Quarter! BUT my issue is with the parking.... More

Jazmine S Thanks for the great review! Most hotel do charge for parking in the downtown area. I'm terribly sorry you weren't informed in advance, we do try our best to make sure everyone knows and we try to offer up some alternatives. Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you back! We stayed at the Ambassador Hotel. When we walked in, it was a little disappointing, a musty smell, really small lobby, maze like. The rooms were nice, with hardwood floors, brick walls. The beds were super comfy, pillows nice. Overall, room was good. The Hotel was in middle of remodeling. Once done, it will be a really quaint, nice little... More

Harleygirl1452 Thank you for the review. We are debuting our newly renovated lobby in a few short weeks - so looking forward to a new arrival experience for our guests. We certainly are a bit of maze - that's what happens when you knit together about 5 different buildings over the last 150 years - we like to think its... More

barbhal12 Thanks for the great review! I'm glad we were able to get you into the room in a fair amount of time. We do try to follow-up with those guests arriving early so that they can get out and enjoy the city. Our new lobby will be debuting in a few short weeks so I hope you have the... More

I stayed at the Ambassador for a quick overnight trip in New Orleans. The hotel is undergoing major renovations. (I didn't know this due to someone else booking the room for me.) The check-in process was extremely slow. There were only two computers and only one person at the desk. Needless to say, I waited for about 20 minutes before... More

David J Thank for the review! We truly appreciate the kind comments and glad you enjoyed your time with us. Our location is one of the best features of the hotel and as you said - a short walk to everything fun in New Orleans. Sorry about the delay at check-in. We will be debuting our new lobby in a... Check-in on two separate weeks were UNACCEPTABLE. Ground floor lobby undergoing rennovation and present location is small, filthy and check-in process just plain awful. Both check-in dates our room was not available by 4 pm and wait time was unacceptable. Hallway carpeting filthy. Rooms nicely furnished. Greatest surprise and only reason we came back...bedding crisp and clean.

I've had a really hard time writing this review - out of all of the hotels I've stayed in in NOLA (including ones on Bourbon in the thick of everything) - this was probably my least favorite. That being said, I don't think it would be fair to give a low rating if only because to be fair, they haven't... More

Chcgo32 Thanks for the review. You're right, the renovation has certainly been a massive undertaking and while the going has been tough at times, the total transformation of the property has been our goal and we are nearing the completion. Our lobby will debut later this Spring and restaurant and bar is planned to open in early Summer. I look... More
