The location on Bourbon put us in the heart of the French Quarter within walking distance to the St. Charles Streetcar. Booked with Southwest Vacation Packages, but treated first class by the staff. Daniel at Registration offered us an upgrade to a room with covered balcony facing Bienville on recently renovated 3rd floor. What a treat since we traveled with... More

We recently stayed at the Royal Sonesta (April 2013) but noticed a change in a few things since our last visit a while back. The Bellmen and cleaning staff are still as friendly as ever. However, a couple of the reception ladies that we dealt with were just a bit snippy; but one of them was very helpful and cheerful... More

Our most recent trip to New Orleans and the Royal Sonesta was the first week of April 2013. It is always a pleasure to be greeted by the most friendly and helpful doorman, always dressed to impress, and ready to help with bags, the door, hailing a cab or offerring a warm welcome or comment. The room was clean and... More

We paid extra for a balcony room but requested one on a side street instead of one facing Bourbon thinking it would be quieter. We could not have been more wrong. The exterior room facing the side street was the loudest hotel experience I have ever had. All night long cars would wait in line to cross Bourbon street, sitting... More

The only saving grace for this facility is their location. Well, maybe the lobby bar is well appointed and stocked. But that is it. Rooms are small and tired. Bathrooms are even smaller yet. Shower fixture was loose. No coffee service at retail until 6AM, and no coffee maker in the room for an alternative. The option is to walk... More

We stayed at the Royal Sonesta for 4 nights and had an awesome experience! Perfect location. Beautiful hotel. Friendly and helpful staff--especially Ja'Kel Moore who was extremely helpful!!! Would definitely return!

I think every staff member we encountered couldn't have been more helpful and nice. The rooms are clean and I loved the robes since i forgot to pack one. The evenings can be a little loud since we had a balcony room on the side street. I don't have a negative thing to say about this hotel.

Lagniappe - a little something extra. This is what I've always received at the Royal Sonesta. It is an oasis of elegance and sanity in the belly of the madness of the French Quarter. The staff, the rooms, the food, the entertainment are beyond reproach. A must as a basis for an amazing experience in New Orleans. Special props to... More

This is a wonderful hotel. You will not be disappointed. The hotel is clean and well throughout. You even get a fresh red rose in the bathroom. The beds are very comfortable. Parking is in an underground parking garage. Use the valet service for parking. The most remarkable part of our experience is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.... More

The Royal Sonesta on Bourbon Street is a real oasis in the French Quarter. Our room overlooking the Courtyard was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and my wife enjoyed the makeup mirror provided. Breakfast served in the Oyster Bar was quick and delicious. In fact the beignets were better than the ones at Cafe Du Monde.
