This hotel is awesome. The service is great and you have to see Russell Murphy who has a desk in the lobby. He will point you to the best restaurants and music. If you want to be a tourist, he knows where to send you. If you want to go where the locals go, he knows where to send you.... more

I went to New Orleans for the first time July 2 - 6 to attend the Essence Music Fest, see the city and devastation that Hurricane Katrina left behind and see what I had been missing all these years not going before. I always knew that when I went to New Orleans, I wanted to stay at the Royal Sonesta... more

We had a disaster with another hotel having lost our reservations. Through a friends company's travel agency we were able to find a room at Royal Sonesta at 10:30 at night during the Essence Festival. They were truly a lfesaver, and saved our vacation. The hotel is beautiful, and the room we stayed in (that peeked around the corner to... more

A three night "staycation" recharged the batteries and reminded us of the many cool things our hometwon has to offer. The Royal Sonesta combines it all. Facilities, staff, value couldn't be beat. more

I first became aware of the Royal Sonesta in early May when I was in New Orleans for a business conference at another New Orleans hotel. I spent one evening during that business trip exploring Bourbon Street when I happened to meet some people who were staying at the Royal Sonesta. They described it as being an upscale hotel with... more

My family - wife and 10 and 11 year old daughters recently spent a week at the Royal Sonesta from June 14-21. This is a great hotel in the heart of the French Quarter. The staff is exceptional especially Russell and Milton the concierges. The hotel is in walking distance to everything you would want to do in the Quarter.... more

300 Bourbon St. says it all. A food & beverage trip for my wife and I. We were there for 4 days and enjoyed the Royal Sonesta very much. Had an interior room (3153) facing the patio. Pool and bar a few steps away. The room was small but enough for our needs. Clean, comfy pillows and bed. Free wireless... more

Stayed at the Royal Sonesta in March for a business meeting. My leather coat was taken from my locked guest room. I reported the loss to Housekeeping immediately, and in writing to managment within 24 hours. Two weeks went by with no response from the hotel so I called them. I spoke to an assistant in the Executive office who... more

We have stayed at several hotels in the French Quarter and the Royal Sonesta has been the best so far. Great location on Bourbon. All staff was very friendly and always ready to help. Hotel property is beautiful. Great pool with bar. No complaints except wish we could have stayed longer. Bed was extra comfortable. Must eat at Yo Mama's... more

We stayed at the Royal Sonesta during the last weekend of Jazz Fest. Really, it is surprising that this place does not have a higher Trip Advisor rating. Our room was lovely, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Ditto for the bathroom. We had a quiet room facing the courtyard and pool. The pool is excellent - a good size for... more
