Very nice old hotel, just what you would expect in the French Quater. Very nice court yard. Breakfast was wonderful, Just a 100 or so feet to Bourbon St. Staff was very nice. There was a wedding reception going on sat night, which was alittle noisey. The balcony rooms on the north side is a one way road to Bourbon... more

The location can't be beat (right off Bourbon Street), but, of course, with a French Quarter location comes lots of noise. If you're lucky and get a back room, the noise isn't too bad, but I was there with a large group of friends, and of course some of them had a lot of trouble sleeping at night. But the... more

I lived in New Orleans many years ago and remember the Saint Louis as an upscale, elegant hotel with a wonderful restaurant. Not now! The hotel is filthy, out dated, overpriced, and Louis XVI restaurant is no longer open for dinner. My husband and I and two friends had booked three rooms for four nights but checked out after only... more

After reading some of the reviews here, I was a little nervous. This is an old, historic hotel and I don't think it can be expected to be just like a new one. There were a few minor things that weren't quite right, but overall, it was fine. Not great, but not the horror show I read about in some... more

Very convenient to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. I got a great deal from the hotel's website that was better than the area's "big chain" hotels. I walked all over the quarter and was never 10 minutes away from the hotel. Lovely places to eat in the area, I didn't try the hotel restaurant. The accomodations were average, but... more

Likes: * Location: Conveniently located, between the nightlife of Bourbon Street on one side, and the shops and galleries of Royal Street on the other. * The nighttime desk clerks (night clerks ONLY) were very helpful when I asked for suggestions of late-night places to eat within walking distance. Dislikes: * Check-in: Took much longer than necessary while one clerk... more

We just got done staying there for a week. The place looks and feels very old and dingy is not the correct word: the place just has a dirty feel to it. The carpets are stained and think we saw what looked like red stains (?) on the lamps. The pictures are misleading so be careful what you are looking... more

Stayed there with a large group in late July. Room was sub-par, electrical sockets didn't work, bathroom still had trash in it and was filthy. Front desk could never provide extra towels or pillows and the personnel displayed no interest in helping. If you want a plain, old, place to flop after a long day, it's fine and very close... more

When I checked in, it took me more than 30 minutes to get the room keys because every guests in line were complaining about their “hidden fee”, which is charged for the additional service the guests do not want but the fee was mandatory. The staff at the front desk was very unprofessional. On the second day of my stay,... more
