On December 22, I rented 2 adjoining rooms. My husband and I along with my daughter and her friend thought it would be fun to spend the night at a hotel (we live right outside New Orleans) and spend the afternoon and evening walking around looking at the hotel Christmas decorations. When we checked in, I realized the housekeeping staff... More

We stayed at the Westin for 4 nights beginning Christmas Day. The location is excellent . . . across from the casino, above the canal shops and a very easy walk to bars, restaurants, streetcars, etc. The hotel lobby is on the 11th floor and you do have to take a separate elevator to your room, although sometimes slow, it... My husband and I enjoyed pure luxury during our visit at the Westin on Canal St. in New Orleans. Rooms were very clean and the views are stunning. Great service and we were treated like royalty. The location is within walking distance of everything. And the price was so affordable. Why would we stay anywhere else??

We could not have had a better stay at the Westin. The staff and the room was awesome. The beds and pillows are truly heavenly and the parking is in a mall but still the most reasonal parking rates of new orleans. The location is in the french quarter and tje view from the room is of the river.

Just stayed at the Westin Canal Place for 3 nights and what a horrible experience. Their elevators did not work and when they did only one or two would work. You either waited 15 minutes to the elevator to come to your floor or walk 20 floors down to the lobby. Also, the walls are paper thin. You can hear... More

We stayed here from 12/29/12-01/01/13. I was very hesitant after reading all the reviews of long waits at the elevator, durty rooms, noise problems. I was very excited that the Westin was attached to a mall that had Saks and Lululemon (my husband on the other hand was not as thrilled). This hotel had 8 elevators total: two connected you... More

We had reservations to stay here the end of September but they suffered so much water damage from rain to "virutally every room in the hotel" that they refunded us our money and we were able to secure a room at another hotel. (I did a review of that here already) We did go into this hotel at that time... More

The location of this hotel is the best. It is right on the edge of the French Quarter and we parked the car and walked everywhere we went for the next 3 days. That was so nice and convenient. And the view of the river was awesome. We loved watching the barges moving along and could also see the activity... More

I really feel like I am doing my fellow travelers a favor by informing them of the major problem with this place: Elevators. Seriously, if the structure was a simply four-story thing, I would have considered combining going out and coming in with a workout, by simply using the stairs. Unfortunately, this is a massive structure and we were on... More

We ended up at this hotel, via a prepaid website, for part of the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve; and it was well worth what we paid. I would not currently recommend paying full price. The parking garage takes up the 1st ten floors so the lobby is on the 11th. Everything else rises above the lobby. With... More
