My room was cramped and outdated, with peeling wallpaper on the walls and mold in the filty bathroom. Oh, and the customer service was horrible! There was no heat in my room when I checked in and the heat still hadn't been fixed three days after I notified them of the problem. Definitely not worth wasting your time at this... More

Hotel challenges the accuracy of this review. Worked hard to satisfy guest difficulties, nothing was acceptable. More

We have stayed here twice, both times with our dog. On the first visit we had Jackson, who was a foster dog. We also had Lily, our dog. Both dogs made a big hit with the staff, especially Kerry at the front desk. When we checked in the desk person remembered Lily and asked about Jackson. When told that he... More

Stepping into the lobby of the Lafayette Hotel is an experience akin to stepping into a bygone era (a la Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris via Nichola Lyndhurst's Goodnight Sweetheart), and while this is a beautiful thing, it could also be a touch overwhelming... Were it not for Dwayne, that is. Dwayne is the Lafayette's gatekeeper, ringmaster and its kindly... More

Got a super rate for Sunday and Monday nights in early November, and for the price, I was absolutely thrilled. The room was big and charming, with nice furnishings, including a comfy armchair, and three huge windows overlooking a parking lot and St. Charles Ave. I especially liked the heavy velvet curtains to block out the morning light. The TV... More

The hotel itself was nice enough (not worth what they charge, but nice enough) but I was charged for 3 nights of parking that I didn't use because I didn't inform someone that I wouldn't be using their parking. Apparently the hotel has no idea what happens in their own parking lot. Moreover, when I produced receipts from parking somewhere... More

Couldn't believe the size of the room for the rates we were paying! It was a suit for next to nothing! The restaurant downstairs was amazing! And best of all the people who worked there went above and beyond to accommodate us!!! Everything went smoothly! Walking distance from everything!! But I really stress enough how nice the people were who... More

We recently went to New Orleans on a family vacation with 3 boys- not your average "Mardi Gras" time in New Orleans. We stayed at the the Lafayette and it was amazing. We spent 1 night in a regular room (requested a suite) and in the morning Kerry literally saved our vacation by transferring us to a King Balcony Suite... More

Staff was very friendly and helpful, location was excellent for people without a car. Room was a bit disappointing not as elegant as my friends, clean but just kind of plain. The air conditioner never quite got it cool enough, and if you are a light sleeper, ask for the back of the hotel! I found the streetcar noise very... More

I don't know how it happened, but the Lafayette Hotel gave us a luxurious suite for the equivalent of 65 euro a night! The location is brilliant, a couple of blocks from the French Quarter and the streetcar stops just down the street. The staff were friendly and the room was brilliant. There was no breakfast available but there's a... More

Lafayette Hotel, 600 St Charles Street, New Orleans We like to have a second room when travelling, since one of us requires much less sleep than the other. Having that other room to sit and read in is just another "marriage saver" for us. Finding a suite at a reasonable price, especially in a popular location, is a challenge. In... More
