I first stayed at the Hotel Provincial around 1975! I found it to be delightful then - and it still is today. The hotel consists of multiple wings, and is two floors in height. If stairs are an issue, stay on the lower level, as there are no elevators. This is a very old building, which adds charm. The staff... More

My Australian husband and I stayed at the Provincial for 8 nights, leaving three days ago. It was our first time to New Orleans and after a shifty Air BnB experience in New York, a real hotel with a front desk and real people was a joy! This hotel is fantastic. From the front desk staff who greet you warmly,... More

This was close enough to everything we wanted to see and do yet far enough away to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet from the hubbub and crowds of New Orleans. We also chose this hotel to avoid having to park on the street. Upon arrival, everyone was very friendly and courteous. The rooms were cute, quaint and very... More

The hotel was excellent with great service. The courtyard is so 'French Quarter' providing an experience you cannot get from a chain. I read in the courtyard and socialized with our neighbors. The location works well with easy access to whatever you want to do. Our room was immaculate and provided an authentic experience. The staff was able to please... More

The location is great right in the middle of the French quarter this however, is the only good thing to say. I was staying a week for a conference with 30 people. The meeting room wasn't prepared and the projector never worked. The rooms are small but okay. The service was absolutely horrid from the front desk to the maids... More

Stayed 4 nights in early December. Loved it. Will return. Location: FABULOUS. Short stroll to Jackson Square where Café du Monde is open 24 hours a day for beignets and good street performers. Horse and carriage tours of French Quarter. Just a few more blocks to all the locations of other amazing street performers. Also short walk to Frenchman Street,... More

Great location for restaurants, coffeeshop, pastry. This is NOT a modern Ritz or Marriott, but it is a charming, cozy small hotel. We stayed in one of the less $$ rooms, but it was very nice with shuttered windows opening onto Chartres St. View of flowered balconies across street. Bath modern, clean, and nice. Bed (half tester?) very comfy. Ship-a-robe... More

This was our second trip to New Orleans this year and both times we stayed at the Hotel Provincial. We were able to walk to Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, and anywhere else we wanted to easily. The valet parking is wonderful and the room we stayed in this past time was breathtaking. I stayed up later than my husband and... More

Room was adequate, 1 queen bed, furniture was old but serviceable. Clean and well maintained. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nearby to many restaurants, bars, historical sites, etc. Walking distance to many places.

Hotel Provincial is located in a perfect spot in the French Quarter. It is towards the quieter end of the French Quarter but still easy walking distance to everything. There are great restaurants next to it. The hotel has a lot of interesting history as well.
