We traveled with our toy poodle, our standard poodle, and our yorkie. The room we were given was perfect for pets and even on the ground floor. The staff was so kind to our pets and so welcoming. We were given a list of rules for the pets which was very easy to follow and given paperwork of dog friendly... more

Many travelers seem to want every hotel in the world to be exactly the same and they never truly experience where they visit. The Olivier House is eclectic - funky -- but it certainly is not a Holiday Inn. Each room has its own character and some are pretty difficult to get to...you should definately ask to see the room.... more

I have never written a review but after stumbling across the reviews on this website, I thought I should add my comments. We have been there yearly since 1971 and have experienced the new, the worn and now the renovation. I was amused by the rodent stories as we have never experienced that in 38 years. However, after Katrina, I... more

My family and I had the horrible experience of staying at this hotel. We have stayed at several hotels in the quarter and never had this experience. The hotel has outdated furniture, "quaint"! The room was not cleaned while we stayed in the hotel. My mother had a horrible time getting to the room. We had to walk under a... more

When we arrived the hotel seemed really nice, they had a room available and the rate was good, plus they advertised free parking with it, so we took it. For some reason they charged our card then, we thought we were giving it for guarantee only. Also, they warned us then that we wouldn't be able to get our car... more

We stayed in 301 which was a balcony room overlooking Toulouse St, and you can see Bourbon Street from there as well. Being so close to Bourbon, it was fairly noisy late into the night, but earplugs made that a non issue. The place was great, the people were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was nice and big, clean,... more

A rat. Yes, a large rat ran across the floor of our room this past Friday evening (5/22) at the Olivier - which was after we had moved from another room that had wallpaper literally falling off the walls. This was no little mouse - I got a very clear view of a large rat with a long tail. There... more

I'm amazed to see all the negetive reviews and im really skeptic as to weather those people had an agenda because i loved this place. I have stayed at a lot of hotel all over the US and abroad and this was one of the neatest and most interesting places i have ever stayed. The staff was very friendly and... more

I don't understand why other reviewers have written such negative reviews about this place. My husband and I found it to be a very delightful place. The location was perfect. Just a minute's walk from Bourbon Street, but yet the compound was so quiet. The room was clean and neat, so was the bathroom. Granted, the furniture was not brand... more

We booked this hotel on-line as much for the location and price as for the promised historical atmosphere. We were not disappointed in any of these. When we arrived a bar down the street was extremely noisy and we commented while checking in that we hoped our room would be in the back. It was not, but that was quickly... more
