As I wrote directly to Lamothe (without a reply), we liked the small personal character, but we probably wouldn't go back. First, we couldn't sleep in room 214 (next to stars, and main desk). We are heavy sleepers, but the noise from the street was overwhelming--not anything out of the ordinary, just can hear everything. Second, the floor was dirty... More

Trying but tired. The decor is great on the surface but not much has been done to return it to its glory. The doors were not sealed to outside. We loved the staff. They were great and very helpful. Do not get room in main house next to street. Noise is unbearable from street and guests.

Hi Patricia, thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We, too, are disappointed to hear of your impression of the Lamothe House as we have gone to great lengths to restore the property back to it's original beauty. We stayed for 3 nights. Location was perfect because it was only a couple blocks from all the action, but in a quiet area to come back and relax! We did not get to stay in the historic part of the hotel but even walking through it each day was nice; the building is absolutely beautiful!

Everything was great! We loved feeling like we were in New Orleans, not just some chain hotel. Having a gated parking lot right next to use was convenient and made us feel more secure. We were close enough to walk everywhere but far enough away to not be kept awake all night by the noise. Everyone was friendly and helpful.... More

We had a very nice time at this lodging. The staff is warm, welcoming and inviting. They were very helpful throughout our stay and we appreciated them. I would definitely stay there again if I was visiting the French Quarter.

Hotel was charming and in a great location! Close to both bourbon st night life and Frenchman st clubs. We usually stay in bigger hotels, but will stay here from now on. Instead of winding through hallways and elevators you walk through the gorgeous entry and straight to your room, it definately feels more like a home. The staff was... More

Stayed at this great old hotel at the edge of the French Quarter for a long weekend. It is in a great location, close to Frenchman Street clubs and within walking distance of everything in the Quarter. The staff was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and anything else we needed. Room was small and dim but clean and quiet and... More

Perfect spot on the edge of the French Quarter, just a few short blocks from the busiest streets & lots of restaurants and shops but quiet enough to sleep and be safe. Old world building & grounds but no musty lace curtains! Close to everything. Clean. Nice warm pool. Hotel was full but we barely saw (or heard) any other... More

We spent a week at the Lamothe House in February of 2015 and they were SUPERB! We had a 2 bedroom suite in the Carriage House behind the pool and everything was clean and very comfortable. It was really nice being on the edge of the French Quarter during Mardi Gras, we certainly heard our share of revelers, but if... More

We are pleased you enjoyed the authentic charm of the Lamothe House during your recent stay with us! Although parking is typically $20 per night, it sounds like you were able to take advantage of one of our free parking specials which we run from time to time on our Facebook page or via an exclusive email special.
