Traveled to N.O in advance of my brother and his family to meet them for a quick reunion. Stayed two nights. One of which was supposed to coincide with my brothers stay at the Lamothe House. They left at 2:00 AM to relocate because of the air conditioning, filth, and bedbugs/roaches in their two bedroom suite. There is so much... more

We stayed at The Lamothe House for a few days in early June 2009. It was our first visit to NOLA and I met my husband there at the end of his business trip. We spent one night at the Holiday Inn on Royal and the rest of the extended weekend @ The Lamothe House. Glad we decided to try... more

The only thing going for this place is the bar down the street called R Bar. I was so incredibly disappointed with this place i almost let it ruin my trip. The service was very poor. And even though they advertised free afternoon sherry and free parking, i found neither to be the case. I was charged $15 a night... more

The pics make this hotel look appealing but it is not!! We had booked a two bedroom suite for a week but only could tolerate one night. The biggest problem was how dirty the floors were. When we 1st arrived my 2 & 4 yr olds took off their shoes & in less than 5 minutes their feet were totally... more

We got to the hotel for Jazzfest at 10 PM. At 11 PM I was still cleaning. There was an inch of dirt on the ceiling fan. I used up every towel in the bathroom washing off dust. . We had convinced ourselves that the reviews that said "dirty" really meant "worn and not new." Well, they meant "dirty." I... more

I've been going to NO for years and have stayed in many places in the French Quarter--always looking for the right combination of atmosphere and value. I finally found that at The Lamothe House. I had an absolutely charming suite on the 3rd floor of the main house. Beautiful walnut furniture (including a great canopy bed with a nice new... more

The main thing going for this place is the location and cheap rates. It is located within very easy walking distance of just about anything you want to experience. The street car line is also about a 10 minute walk. We came in with a group of about 20 people. Check-in was a nightmare. We were given keys to a... more

This was my fourth trip to NO and I always try someplace different. I liked the location - far end of the French Quarter, close to everything, but very quiet. The hotel itself is a very old, historic building, full of antiques and character. I was given a room right off the private courtyard, with twin four poster beds. It... more

I went to New Orleans for the Jazz and the food...NOT the place I was placing my head at night. It is not the Ritz nor is it a flea bag. I had one of the windowless rooms...no big deal...it allowed for undisturbed sleep in the morning. No the room was not immaculate. There were only 3 hooks for hanging... more

I wish I had paid better attention to the bad reviews before staying here. While the hotel is not an awful place and the location is not terrible, you will have no idea what room you are getting until you actually walk in. We booked and paid for a 2 bedroom suite (which was the reason I decided to stay... more

Management response from
LamotheHouseHotel, Assistant General Manager

Michael was a lovely guest to have at our establishment. The guest booked a two-bedroom suite and was given a one-bedroom suite. This guest was also refunded the difference due to his inconveniences. Unfortunately, we managers, like many others do not work 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. I am personally flattered that guests would like to deal...
