The hotel is larger than it looks from the street as it has a large footprint but is only four levels. The rooms have very high ceilings and are generous in size. Our complaint about the rooms is that electrical outlets for all of our gadgets were not as convenient as they should have been for 2016 - most hotels... More

This hotel is located on one end of the French Quarter. It is in easy walking distance of anything you would want to see in the French Quarter, Jackson Square, and The French Market, but there is also quick access to taxis, bicycle carriages (not sure what these are called but there are a ton of them and we caught... First time in New Orleans and booked this hotel based on Tripadvisor. Very happy with the standard of the facility, big rooms great bed. Location location location. 1 short block from Bourbon St. Had a room above the entrance which was a little noisy but hey it was Mardi Gras.

We were staying just one night for a special occasion and I had spoken with Manager personally regarding our arrangements. We were promised it was no problem. When we arrived, it was apparently now a problem. We could not have the rooms we were promised, and to say the least were very disappointed. The staff were beside themselves trying to... More

Just left the Hyatt FQ after 3 nights. (Conference at a different hotel). I can't say enough positive things about the team at the Hyatt! So friendly! Rooms are great - clean and modern without being cold. I stayed on the pool courtyard. Nice and quiet except the occasional drunk person wandering the halls at 3am (not the hotel's fault... More

Beautiful room with balcony, enjoyed the start of Mardi Gras with much celebrating in the streets below. Niece and husband treated us to this the night before a cruise to the Caribbean began. What a way to begin a vacation... It was perfect. We couldn't have stayed at a better hotel.

We stayed here at the beginning at Mardi Gras and had the choice of an interior king suite or a balcony suite, we figured we finally made it to NOLA, we should do it right! There is only one con to being in a room facing Bourbon Street and obviously that is the noise. The front desk made sure to... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
